#Beads
A wearable rainbow in the form of a crocheted rope bracelet, made by a friend of my mother's (magrit k.). I also have a necklace to accompany the bracelet but with a diameter of 1 cm/ 0,39 inches (just like the bracelet) it is a little too thick for my personal (neck) comfort.
I've watched a few tutorials on YouTube to understand how this type of bracelet (or necklace) is made, and I should admit that my head was spinning after watching just a few minutes. Crocheting, braiding, or even knitting have never been my favourite DIY pastimes, I'm simply not good at all at this repetitive type of craft. And this style of bead crocheting seems to be super complicated and finicky because the very tiny seed beads (rocailles) are the required main "ingredient". So it definitely was a lot easier (and faster) to photograph the bracelet than to make it ;)
This is a single shot of the bracelet which I'd placed in front of my go-to black foam sheet. The bracelet has a magnetic clasp which I've opened before so I had a single bracelet layer only. I've taken another photo for which I've used the necklace that I had arranged in several layers but that was a little bit too much of a "rainbow colour explosion", plus I also prefer the slightly weird-looking "space worm" shape of the single layer bracelet with the black negative space around. Shot wide open at F/2.8 to get a super tight focus and some nice, bubbly "ball pit" bokeh :)
HMM, Everyone!

#Odd
For "Odd", I immediately had the idea of combining Ohropax® earplugs and my new Sennheiser earbuds. The idea probably came to my mind so easily because my old, trusted, super comfy custom-made earbuds stopped working properly just recently when the right earpiece went "deaf" all of a sudden. I had them sent to the manufacturer, and even though they don't make those earphones anymore (only hearing aids, their original field of business), I still hope that they can fix it. The irony here is that I bought these earphones at the audiologist (you couldn't buy them anywhere else) years ago, because to make the earpieces, the audiologist had to make a silicone earmold, secured with a cotton thread so you could safely remove the silicone once it had hardened. So I sat there, waiting with my ears totally muffled by the silicone, and rummaging about the pretty likely next step following the purchase of in-ear headphones: hearing aids if I turn up the volume too loudly...
The width of the little scene is 5 cm/1,9 inches, so the width of the frame, negative space included, is about 5,5 cm/2,1 inches. The final image is an in-camera focus stacking made of 15 images. And yes, I have bought these colourful Ohropax® earplugs just for the theme, because I thought the standard yellow or orange earplugs would look a little boring for my "Sister Disco" setup ;) The earplugs come in four colours, blue, green, yellow, and orange, and all have a nice marbling pattern. I decided to use only three of the earplugs so the scene wouldn't get too big and there would also be some negative space to let the image "breathe". Processed in DXO, Color Efex Pro, and Photoshop.

We have a flood every year in May. It may be less or more, but every time this is a period of big water surfaces. So it brings the possibilities of capturing the reflections. The problem is the wind. And finally the stillness comes. I've been on a cloud nine watching this. And here's one more pano made of 7 shots, hdr.
Thank you for all your visits and favs, my dear friends. I'm gonna leave the city for some days.

Odd how things work out... I was going through my Lightroom files from 2010, and I came across this image of the Golden Gate. This image has always been one of my favorite captures of the fog covering the Golden Gate, so I decided to make it my desktop... Well, seeing as how I process most of my images in the realm of black and white, my export settings sent this directly to Silver Efex Pro. The jpeg came up in Silver Efex, and I knew right away that I had to take the processing a step further. I made a few minor adjustments, and ended up with this. I know there will be some that like the color, and some that like the B&W... For me, this image shows us how color can add to a image, as well as distract from the main elements.
As always... Thank you for stopping by!
and my heart beats so
that I can hardly speak,
and I seem to find
the happiness I seek,
when we're out together
dancing cheek to cheek.
It's True Heart's Day soon ^__^
I know I know, the wind might blow, the sky might shake but your arms will hold
When I'm on your mind, I'm on cloud nine
The way I feel, without tears, I'm floating, light, in your atmosphere
When I'm on your mind, I'm on cloud nine

[Project 365, Day 40: May 26, 2009]
I'm also kind of a person who always thinks. Think everytime, think every place. So many times I feel like my head is about to explode. Day by day, I just wish for a little of moment that I could truly relax my soul, take my mind on cloud nine, to feel the birds' wing and let it flow with the wind.
Still wish...
Any help?...

Looking South from downtown Vancouver, towards Vanier Park and Kitsilano/Westside. That's pretty much my 'hood in that area, almost halfway down on the right but a smidge further right than the image border.
A fabulous evening for one last visit to Cloud Nine revolving restaurant at Robson Street's Landmark Hotel before they close down and get blasted to smithereens at the end of this month. Such a shame they let the place go to ruin since it really is the best place for 360 views of Vancouver - moreso than the Harbour Centre Tower AND it's free! It takes about 90mins to do the full rotation. And what are they replacing it with? Two more hi-rise condo towers that no-one can afford. Oh Vancouver!
