October garden journal shots, autumn is peaking and plants are prepping for winter
I was going for a 'cut stone look' with the sharp angles. These beads were made with pieces of canes based on Donna Kato's 'Starry Night Cane' technique from her new book.
I mixed all the paints directly on the paper. I wanted to get that wet into wet look and also have the high contrast. I have spent a lot of time learning color, but I feel a desire to spend more time with technique, especially wet into wet. I can see that technique and brushwork are like handwriting, making it a personal "note".

For those that are interested my eye makeup is MAC black eyeliner applied to inner lids and smudged below to give that smoky look, eye shadow is Clinique with Sex and the City Carrie false lashes and black MAC mascara. Outer face makeup is MAC Tech in my shade with a light dusting of MAC fix powder. Lipstick is Dior Rouge 551 Rose Occotte. Eyebrow pencil is a brown No 7 from Boots, with a pink Dior blush. My perfume that night was Calvin Klein Obsession. What me obsessed? just a bit.
