Stones picked up on the Jersey shore

CloseUp and WideView were shot at the same location, near the mouth of Bird Creek as it feeds int the Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet, near Anchorage Alaska. The surface shown in CloseUp is about 2 yards away to the south. Wide View is about 100 yards away to the north. Much of the striation is due to sedimentary bedding, which was deposited horizontally. Subsequent tectonic deformation tilted the beds into their current vertical orientation.

possibly a four-spotted, but I'm not sure. I love the pose and the slight fuzziness.

Weird pic I took by accident while sitting in the car. I kinda like it. 😀

ps i'm not recommending any of these cookery adventures. they suit my personal taste. photographing to encourage myself to eat more healthily ...

i've created a group www.flickr.com/groups/cooking_is_my_hobby/ to gather ideas and encourage myself to continue with healthy eating by learning from others if you're interested in cooking, sometimes or a lot, or enjoy the cooking of others, you're always welcome ...

I still use a point and shoot, so this is as close up as I could get to this crawling creature.
