Young crow and his mum taking for a walk near Ocean Beach in San Francisco. He didn't seem to mind me as long as I didn't get too close. But mum was keeping a close eye out.
First time posting this in color because I hate the background, but you can't always select that. Sometimes ya just gotta go with what ya got. But I was impressed with the details in the feathers.

Since the return of the 218s to the Regensburg - Hof line, Reuth bei Endorf has become one of the most popular photo spots in Germany. The location had been on my list for a long time, and with two sunny weekend days I finally made the trip.
About a dozen photographers were assembled for the afternoon RE2 4863. It was a tense wait as a freight was approaching from behind, the signal already showing HP1 (clear). Thankfully the RE2 showed up first, about a minute before the freight!

A couple of shots taken as low as i could manage on the boardwalk at high tide. I guess the only way i will ever get lower will involve chest waders and or a right angle veiwfinder attatchment. Every inch closer improves separation
Of the Red-shouldered Kind. We were watching this young fella in the tree when he decided to fly down and past us, so close I couldn't focus on him in some frames!

This weeks "Macro Mondays" Theme of "Closed" had me unsure of what to photograph for a while. I was a little uninspired. I had a look through the photos today and saw a few thoughts I'd had already represented with some good photos.
I then decided to make my son's drinks bottle my subject and use a technique I'd used recently for the "Wheels" theme to actually close the bottle during the exposure and have it closed by the end. I also incorporated the "Complementary Colours" theme into the photo and selected a Green background with texture.
I do like photos with motion blur so I was happy to try this again.
Hard to Believe this is a Scene really Close to Home here in Southern California, 10 minutes from home in Irvine there is some nice woodland brush areas and sometimes when I'm home I venture out early morning on the Weekends, and when the Fog rolls outs it creates a nice atmospheric scene

In this scene, both the foreground log and the slightly obscured bridge, both angle in the same direction. The fallen tree however, crosses most of the bridge, helping to aid in the narrative. That this single bridge is used but is a background element to the forest itself. And, how very close it came to being crushed by the fallen tree.
I removed the polarizing filter to capture the surface reflections and flow of the water. That in turn aided in the creation of a leading line, taking the viewer up and into the heart of the shot. It was an extremely peaceful moment.
Thanks for taking the time to view my image. Your comments, faves & constructive criticism are greatly appreciated.
