The Winter sun on the clocktower, on a cold afternoon.

(Just like in Back to the Future, the clock is stuck on that time! I don't remember hearing any stories of it being struck by lightening though....)

Part of the City Palace in Jaipur.

The St. Mark's Clocktower was built in the late 1400s. It was designed to be visible from the waters of the lagoon and show the wealth and glory of Venice.

Darn kid.... Almost another perfect shot by Kat.

The Sapporo Clocktower, one of the 'landmarks' of the city (though it's almost completely hidden by large buildings surrounding it) is an historic site. It was built shortly after the Meiji Resoration of 1868 to welcome the Emperor as he toured the country to promote himself.

Parliament Hill, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Parliament Hill (French: Colline du Parlement), colloquially known as The Hill, is an area of Crown land on the southern banks of the Ottawa River in downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Its Gothic revival suite of buildings, and their architectural elements of national symbolic importance, is the home of the Parliament of Canada. Parliament Hill attracts approximately three million visitors each year. Law enforcement on Parliament Hill and in the parliamentary precinct is the responsibility of the Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS).

Originally the site of a military base in the 18th and early 19th centuries, development of the area into a governmental precinct began in 1859, after Queen Victoria chose Ottawa as the capital of the Province of Canada. Following several extensions to the parliament and departmental buildings and a fire in 1916 that destroyed the Centre Block, Parliament Hill took on its present form with the completion of the Peace Tower in 1927. Since 2002, an extensive $3 billion renovation and rehabilitation project has been underway throughout all the precinct's buildings; work is not expected to be complete until after 2028.

Clocktower in the citadel of Sighisoara. The 5 turrets on the top indicate that the town had ius gladii.. the power to pass the death sentance.

I don't have many pictures of artifacts, but this is an interesting one. Most media is presented as either an external resource (a link to a webpage, or a text file or media file) or is streamed into world (video and music). But some groups go with an authenticity of object that is interesting. The City of Lost Angels publishes a physical newsletter, in the form of an actual book, that your avatar can sit and read. Pages turn with a rustle of paper, the book is bound, and it has full-page ads and regular columns, just like a real "print" magazine.
