And the last of my water spirit trio, the Nykur. They are definitely the most malicious of the three and have a bad habit of hauling people into lakes to drown them. Though a canny traveler will know them by their backwards legs and ears and steer well clear.
By the way, let the record show that I despise AI. None of my drawings posted on Flickr or elsewhere used AI in any form. I pretty much slaved over my drawings piece by tiny piece.
They were either created by hand using paper & canvas & paints, or a computer drawing program with a basic graphics drawing tablet or iPad using Procreate, ClipStudioPaint, Pixelmator, or Photoshop.
I used the “prompts” term for individual words & phrases used in various drawing challenges, but that has become a key term associated with AI lately, so I’m trying not to use that word anymore.
A witch on a walk.
Still haven’t completely managed to do a human walk cycle that doesn’t have a kind of bobbing pigeon head, although I personally kind of like it with this one, makes the hat look nice and floppy anyway.
Character belongs to me.
This was inspired by Inktober.
Since this was drawn using Clip Studio Paint, I cannot claim this as an Inktober activity. I still intend to use those prompts for this year's edition of Inktober to inspire some efforts at daily illustration practice. Hence this generic gargoyle design.
Might look a little weird and the sleeve things aren't the same but I was having trouble with those... ;-;
After drawing an Excitable Koala last week I found that I NEEDED TO DRAW TODAY.
I was in a deep black pit of despair after discovering a number of online shops selling my QUEER PAGAN FLAG design, without attribution. One site had it credited to a user, who obviously has just swiped the design and presented it as their own. Now I need to take action over this. The design is released under the creative commons (CC BY-SA 4.0) license, which means that folk are free to do what they want with it, provided they attribute the source. But none of that.
I'm working my way through politely requesting attribution at these sites, but ultimately I have to be prepared to get a DMCA Take Down if they don't comply. After my experience with the Masters, where nothing went to plan and as a result the artwork suffered; and having a seizure while attempting a 24 hour comic the other year, I'd more or less STOPPED DRAWING. And now this, where folk think ripping off a design is enough when it isn't.
So today, I needed to draw. And this is the result.
CSP Notes:
It's been a while since I used Clip Studio Paint, and I'm really out of practise. However I took the opportunity to try some new techniques. This is the first time I've used DRAFT and REFERENCE layers. This style is what I call my "comic" style in that I draw it without too much concern about anatomy. But also, this is the first time I've properly used VECTOR strokes. They are a lot easier to correct than raster ones. This might be the start of a new practise here, but we'll see. I'm just happy to get back to drawing.
Creeping along with the inks...and I should really space these out by 2-3 days between uploads, right?
Shows how in CLIP STUDIO PAINT, if you tick the "eye box" in the Sub-Tool Detail Palette, that setting will also appear in the Properties Palette.
ift.tt/3hMtNeH I drew this two weeks ago immediately after watching the Austria GP qualifying, because I was so tickled with George Russell casually chatting about "keeping the Ferraris in the back" during a post quali interview. (BDE goals) I can't remember if Sainz did walk by in the background or if I just thought his deadpan non-response would be funny but...now I regret. #spaeart #f1fanart #dailydraw #digitalart #digitalsketchbook #xppenartist #clipstudiopaint #wearewilliams #canberraartist
