More of Bill Clinton -- again, my apologies for the quality, these are copies of copies so the resolution is low. But look how close I was!! I actually shook hands with him twice -- I ran back to the other end of the line after I shook his hand the first time so I could go twice. I have met 6 presidents -- Nixon, Bush I, Bush II (although I met him when he was not President, just a board member at Harkin), Ford, Carter, and now Clinton. Kitty and I were so happy to see him! I am sure she posted all these photos on her fotolog -- and she actually took this one so kudos for Kitty!!

The moated manor house of Baddesley Clinton, located just north of the historic town of Warwick in the English county of Warwickshire, was probably established sometime in the 13th century.
In 1438, John Brome, the Under-Treasurer of England, bought the manor. It then passed to his son, Nicholas, who is thought to have built the east range, which is the main entrance. Nicholas is also responsible for the extensive rebuilding of the nearby parish church dedicated to St. Michael, done as penance for killing the parish priest, a murder reputed to have taken place in the great house itself. The house from this period was equipped with gun-ports, and possibly a drawbridge. When Nicholas Brome died in 1517, the house passed to his daughter, who married Sir Edward Ferrers (High Sheriff of Warwickshire) in 1500. The house remained in the ownership of the Ferrers family until 1940 when it was purchased by Thomas Walker, a relative of the family who changed his name to Ferrers. His son, who inherited in 1970, sold the estate in 1980 to the National Trust, who now manage it.

A little kart recently acquired by my son. Don't know much about it and less of its history. Think it might be a Tiger model, its fitted with a 2.5hp A490 Clinton engine. Think it may be from the sixties but any info would be great. Also believe there is a classic kart scene out there do folks still race these?
This is a sequence of photos that I took in Paris using my Nikon F301.
I was on Holiday in France and we were walking around Paris trying to find the Louvre using a McDonalds tourist map. Then we saw a bunch of guys jogging around the park, but what got our attention was that some of them were wearing suits.
We then realised that it was the "then President" Bill Clinton with his body guards, so we ran to get ahead of them and took the photos. It was a very strange thing, and just shows being in the right place at the right time can produce results.

Not all Deadheads are for Obama.
Yes, it would be wonderful to have an African-American president! It would be wonderful to have a woman president! But neither of those factors matter. What matters is what I want my president to DO, and FIX and who I believe can get it done best. And that is why I support Hillary Clinton.
Given what Hillary has accomplished as a two term senator, and her white house level experience, she is simply more qualified to be President in my eyes.
Both Hillary and Obama promise getting troops out of Iraq as a priority. Hillary is familiar with politics on the world stage, and THAT experience we sorely need, effective immediately, given the near nuclear conditions that many non-US friendly countries possess. It's the "effective Immediately" part I question in Obama. The world stage is a completely different ballgame, and she is already a player.
Obama certainly is charismatic and a gives a good speech, and has lots of pop-culture icons supporting him. And I agree it is silly to tell anyone to vote for Hillary BECAUSE she is a woman. But the part people are missing, because it has been such a 'normal' part of our culture for so long, is the blatant sexism in any argument I have heard against why she should be president or even just the democratic candidate. The attacks are either vague and irrelevant at best, but most often personal and hateful at worst. If attacks on Obama or McCain or any other candidate were irrelevant or personal, they would be considered an outrage and ridiculous.
And I find it saddest of all when I hear the sexist slams coming from women. So sorry you regurgitate the machine, and don't even know it. Core reasons why one should not elect her are simply not there, so those against her resort to other stuff. Sexism runs deeper than any other 'ism' in this country. I'm not sure the U.S. Is ready for a woman president. It's too upsetting to the power status-quo. But that's what's great about her. She takes hit after hit and stays focused and on course. I admire that in any man or woman, and I require that in my President.
Yes SHE can.

I had the beef stir fry, with salad and garlic toast, as you will see in my photo. The meal was well presented, tasty and satisfying.
Dessert was a little more dissapointing. I had a slice of the "homemade" cherry pie. It was heavy and didn't taste homemade at all. I didn't finish mine - and I normally love cherry pie.
