Near the coast I photographed this fortress on the cliffside by Positano.. Another fortress shown in first comment section.
I will be posting another three images from Positano in quick succession after this one. After those will be images from the city of Amalfi.
Seeking out new compositions along the Blue Ridge Parkway can be a challenge, some days you are spoiled for choice, on others you must be discerning in your judgement. This day was of the former, everywhere I looked the light sang, the fall leaves shook, and the colors came to life. It was while I was headed to what was to be my sunset location that I spied something remarkable, the Devil’s Courthouse awash with light, those cold granite cliffs appearing to glow. It’s rare I see the courthouse more than just a landmark, but the light, the colors, and the simple cloud just behind, tempting any photographer to give it a try.

Just posted the last three images from Positano.
Ronda is a mountaintop city in Spain’s Malaga province that is set above a deep gorge. The current Ronda received the title of city at the time of Julius Caesar. The Puente Nuevo (New Bridge) on the left spans the 120-metre-deep (390 ft) El Tajo gorge which separates the city’s 15th-century new town from its old town. Bridge construction started in 1759 and took 34 years. The photo is a panorama from two files in landscape format.
Found these two bighorn sheep rams hanging out on the cliffs through one of the canyons in Colorado. Wasn't looking for them, but then there they were ... just hanging out and foraging for food. For the life of me, I will never understand (or feel less fearful) when they run and jump along the cliffside boulders. I know it's what they're meant to do, but I still experience awe every time I witness it.

A capture at Cape Point from above looking back at the winding path that leads besides the cliffside of the Atlantic towards the Cape Point Nature Reserve. It was such a bright day so I lost a lot of detail on this and was very disappointed but wanted to share as it was such a wonderfully beautiful place. I plan to reshoot this scene later in the year for sure!
Windswept trees cling to the side of cliffs overlooking the Golden Gate along the Coastal Trail at San Francisco’s Lands End.
Here is the Portland Head Light on this dark day as seen from the Cliffside Trail to its west, October, 2021. This iconic, photogenic lighthouse sits on the rocky shores of Cape Elizabeth, just south of Portland, Maine, USA. It is also surrounded by a beautiful municipal park, Ft. Williams Park.
Spending most of their life at sea plunge-diving for fish and squid, red-tailed tropicbirds (Phaethon rubricauda) or koa’e ‘ula return to land only to nest. Nests are simple scrapes in holes and overhangs of shoreline escarpment out of reach of most terrestrial predators.

The Cliffside House is located on the other side of the rock cliffs from the beach. It is used as a home point and OOC area for some people, and isn't really used in the rp itself. It's the green room, of sort.
The interior ceilings are a little low for my tastes, but the overall look - with the cliff, pool and falling water are quite delightful.

Bass Harbor Head Light is a lighthouse located within Acadia National Park in the southwest portion of Mount Desert Island, Maine, marking the entrance to Bass Harbor and Blue Hill Bay.
A pair of Brandt's cormorants interact while sitting on their cliffside nest. I was stoked to get a few nice shots of these guys last week.

My entry to the 8x8 Vignette category of the 2017 Summer Joust.
The build is 8x8 but the vine does go over that limit possibly more than it should. However if I lose due to that, I don't mind because I had a lot of fun building this! Probably some of the most fun I've had building in a while! :)
First I thought it was a phalarope, but bird is a bit large. I think it is a tattler, and it looks like the more rare one the gray-tailed tattler, but most likely a wandering tattler.
