Another autumn sunset at the cliffs. Enjoy the leaves while they last!

Shortly after 4:00pm County Fire was dispatched to a report of a subject over the cliff. Upon arrival, Engine 17 found a male trapped approximately 35 feet over the side with his dog. Using a County Sheriff's pickup as an anchor point, a firefighter was lowered down. After attaching a harness to the victim, both dog and owner were lower safely to the beach. AMR was also on scene but neither dog nor owner required any medical attention.

I took this photo on a hike along the South West Coast Path in England. The white cliffs are so impressive, and the view from the top is amazing. I love the way the sunlight shines on the cliffs and the blue sky is reflected in the water below.

Cliff Palace, Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado, USA

The Ancient Pueblo People or Anasazi were a prehistoric Native American culture in the Southwest of the USA. They are best known for the cliff dwellings constructed from adobe and sand stone.

The Cliff Palace is the largest cliff dwelling of the Anasazi culture. The "palace" was built into an alcove in a sandstone cliff. It's s 89 feet deep and 59 feet high (27 m x 18 m) and 288 feet (88 m) long. The structure has about 150 rooms, many of them were used as storage space. The Cliff Palace also has 23 kivas or ceremonial rooms.

The building was in use in the 10-11th century and was abandoned around 1300.
