- www.kevin-palmer.com - This morning was a cold one in Wyoming. The temperature was at least -11°F, possibly colder. I went for a hike besides Piney Creek in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains near Story. There were all kinds of interesting ice and frost formations present. But the creek flows fast enough that I didn't see any portions where it was frozen over completely. Standing above snowy trees at the entrance to the canyon is this colorful cliff. It doesn't see any sunlight until late afternoon.

I don't go out looking for the peregrines it's just that my normal walk around the White Cliffs area takes me past places where I know they perch up.
As well as these I had Common and lesser whitethroat, blackcap, willow warbler but none of these allowed shots worthy of posting.

I got up to shoot sunrise at Santorini and realised all these low formation clouds and fog covering the caldera. As a cruise ship approached in the early hours of the morning to enter the bay, there was beautiful light on the cliffs and the rocks of the caldera.

The rare phenomenon of rain has found its way to San Diego and with that comes some pretty majestic sunsets.
East Cliff in Whitby with St Mary's Church and the Abbey is frequently photographed from West Cliff. However, I find the reverse shot an attractive and interesting image.
Before the current metal stairway was installed the only access to Sigiriya Lion Rock in central Sri Lanka were stone steps carved directly into the cliff face.

The wall as I saw it last Sunday looks impressive and beautiful, with a long and gentle slope, amazing geological lines and the nice tones of sandstone. Maybe the picture needs something else... a pair of seagulls, a glider, dramatic clouds, a dinosaur footprint... Or maybe it doesn't... Tomorrow I'll go back there for dawn and sunrise. Wanna come?

We recently spent some time exploring a small part of East Devon. This shot was taken in the charming town of Budleigh Salterton. The cliffs here are part of the Jurassic Coast, a 100-mile stretch of beautiful coastline that has World Heritage status (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jurassic_Coast)
