An NGO, the Conservancy Association Centre for Heritage (CACHe), found that the opening of the MTR’s West Island Line had brought fewer visitors but higher rents to the Sai Wan area. A year after Sai Ying Pun, HKU and Kennedy Town stations went into operation, around 20 percent of the shops had been emptied, shut down or changed into another business.

Empty coal train E-TPHCCO comes down the hill from Mountainair and around Click's Curve as the sun sets behind the Manzano Mountains. This one snuck up on us, so I didn't have time to fly the drone and get the exact angle I wanted. It still turned out decent though.
This is the coal train that actually interchanges in Tulsa to the Sand Springs Railway. The train backs into Sand Springs trackage just east of Cherokee Yard where it eventually gets offloaded in Sand Springs by truck. There is not a coal power plant in Sand Springs, but the railroad still makes money having whoever truck it out of there where it is delivered to who knows......So it was really neat to catch it on the transcon several hundred miles from home.
If you look hard enough, you might be able to find 3 Okies watching this train roll by.

On June 24 2018, Southern Shorthaul Railroad operated their first grain train on the Mildura line since it was recently converted from broad to standard gauge as part of the Murray Basin Rail Project in taking place in Victoria's North/West region.
The train loaded at Birchip and ran as #7984 bound for Appleton Dock in Melbourne.
Travelling on the standard gauge lines in the state, the journey from Birchip saw the train run south to Maryborough, then west to Ararat along the cross country line which reopened in Feb 2018.
From Ararat the train headed via Cressy to North Geelong, then onto Melbourne from there.

Growing up, I caught fireflies. But now I know what I was catching was Glowing Click Beetles. Both are here, but the these Click Beetles are more common. Fireflies glow from the end of their abdomen while Glowing Click Beetles glow from two spots at the back of their head. You can tell the difference as they fly because fireflies flash and click beetles don't. We have several species of both here. This bioluminesence is used to communicate and find mates.
This shot isn't great, but I think it is the best I have done capturing the green glow. I have wanted to get a shot like this forever. They usually aren't holding still or don't keep glowing when I try to shoot them. I had to shoot with far lower shutter speed than I normally would have. Don't know how it managed to come out this good.

I've been down with a cold for the past week & am so behind on sharing photos. I got out briefly today (June 11, 2022) for a visit to local Oakwood Cemetery in Troy, New York, USA & was delighted to see this two-inch Click Beetle, only the second I've ever seen. So big!

Catching a launch shot is fun after spending much time with my lens aimed at perched eagles. They can sit in a spot for hours between fish. I was locked on to this baldie when he made his move, which was just a quick drop and then off.
It all happens so fast.
He/she must have exhaled strongly as there is some nostril spray.
A follow-up shot milleseconds later in comments.
They are so impressive to watch.
The Weekend is here. Hope your weekend is special!
