Cleanup in Lviv on the occasion of World Cleanup Day
World Cleanup Day, organised by the environmental initiative, ‘Let’s do it’ is a day when the world unites for a great common cause – the preservation of the environment. On September 16, 2023, in compliance with wartime restrictions, safety standards and under the slogan, "Let the sky be peaceful and Ukraine clean!" Lviv and other regions of Ukraine, took part in World Cleanup Day. They were joined by 70 million participants in 191 countries around the world. The main goal is to create a culture of cleanliness, proper waste management and responsible consumption of resources among citizens, and to unite efforts for the sake of an environmentally friendly future.

Hundreds of volunteers helped beautify several Dallas ISD schools on Thursday, April 14, 2011, leading up to Earth Day. The project was sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency and DART, which bused the volunteers to 10 district campuses.
