Recovery Act funds are helping Oak Ridge complete substantial cleanup work at Y-12 National Security Complex, including the demolition of five Cold War facilities and cleanup of a 7-acre scrap yard.
More than 700 volunteers cleared the James River and its banks of trash and recyclables on Sept. 10, 2016. Unfortunately, some folks are still insensitive to the magic and see waterways as little more than convenient places to dump trash. These two were part of a group of volunteers trying to undo some of the damage. The event was a cleanup of several miles along the Flint River, east of Huntsville, on June 2nd.
