ever changing, constant
rhythmic and random
silence, full of sound
like cold water
soothes my soul
gull cry awakens
saline cleanses
and vastness dwarfs
as I sit and breathe
the hearty air
sometimes I talk
and the waves listen
but mostly the waves talk
while I sit still
and listen

Salt water is good for everything except drinking. Pretty sure that's completely true....maybe? :-) Doesn't matter....whatever excuse to get me to the ocean works for me!
Hope you all have a soul cleansing Friday. Can we all agree that beer might be a good soul cleanser as well???

Life as we know it is inevitably dirty. The filth of our lives builds up over time. Eventually it will become a burden. Our quality of life will decline. The darkness drags us down, unless . . . Once in a while we need to cleanse ourselves, purify or spirits, wash our souls, clear our minds and brighten our hearts.
The coastal prairie wetlands of Anahuac National Wildlife Preserve, Texas. Visible: a flock of ibis as well as other migrating birds and hawks.

Fire, when it sweeps through a forest understory can be very cleansing to the ecosystem, but when it crashes through, windswept into the forest canopy, called CROWNING, it can destroy a site for generations to come.
This is Highway 89, north of Quincy, in Plumas County, site of the recent Dixie Fire. It has to date, consumed over 900,000 acres of prime, oftentimes virgin forest, both privately owned and Public.
Hey, that camera bag in the creek looks just like mine...
There are probably better ways to clean lenses and camera bags, but this worked for me. I'll try not to leave the bag on a slope again.
Another couple of images from the little session at the coast in the week. It was fun to use the 24mm T/S again...it seemed like ages. Happy holidays everyone!
Sounds like a name for a solicitor's business. Moody and Grey. Hmmm. Well, things are not so great. I'm sat at home isolating, surrounded by three others coughing and spitting Covid around the place. I have a tickle and a frog in my throat but keep testing "negative". The others are suffering, and reading that is how so many others start before becoming serious is a constant worry. My wife is double jabbed but still has it. So much stuff about why you shouldn't get the jab, but I have noticed I've never heard anyone who has had Covid who has said you shouldn't get the jab. Unless they died of a blood clot. Oh what misery. Only a full blooded visit to the slate quarries of Snowdonia will cleanse my mind.
