Taking apart an old build to incorporate elements into something new and part way through the process looked up and saw this. Not sure if it's an explosion cloud, a building or some Chris Foss-ian ancient craft.

I got thrown out by Homer's bald-headed cyclops, I don't suppose his last name is Simpson. I decided that I better help clean up and now I am armed to do so! Obviously, I was trespassing. eDDie and I excel at that. Not here, I would never opt for taking a chance in Homer's home! I got outta there; I took the hint! Cyclops was certainly very possessive. His artwork warned everyone to steer clear. This sign expresses the company policy. I found a broom so that I could help clean. Seldom do you find a broom that is bald-headed on both ends. It's going to take quite some time for a clean sweep. Perhaps touch up the paint afterward? Then it's time to move on... and to think that this is one of the better houses at the tunnel but my nose signaled that I should steer clear of this house. I wonder if eDDie is still asleep in the Blazer while I track down other prizes? Places to poke around and pix to shoot, stupid and otherwise.
From Golden Gate State Park, our eDDie trek continued north and then from Rollinsville on the Peak-to-Peak Highway, west to the housing at the Moffat Tunnel's East Portal. I found this shot at one of the most accessible deteriorating company houses. The Moffatt Tunnel crews had cushy abodes.
Maybe the mountain pack rats chewed away at the broomage. Have you seen the size of the pack rats up here at the divide? Historically, a military weather retinue posted atop Pikes Peak once noted the size of the rats that carried pieces of concrete constructions away! Sheesh! I've been shooting beside the railroad using my 35 and my 22. Can you believe I was a'waiting for the horns to blow. I already expected Anthrax to toot. Late again, as usual.
This is some of the old D&RGW housing company house near the Moffat Tunnel that eDDie and I rifled. The work force that operated the station - agents, telegraphers, electricians, tunnel curtain operators and other maintenance workers for the East Portal of the Moffat Tunnel had short walks to work. This housing became more tenuous over last winter. Boy, I bet these houses were dandy spots to sleep when the D&RGW Mallets were pounding their way up grade! Have you seen the size of the 3-foot low pressure cylinders on the fronts of those Mallets?
Chopper isn't the lickiest dog in the world, so I had to capture the moment.

Sitting on the blocks at London King's Cross P7, LNER no. 43309 receives the attention of caretaking staff after terminating with 1Y88, the 1603 HST from York. 43313 was on the rear.
The impossible happened.
In a flash, the Agents' Mobile Command Center dropped through the top floor of the grocer with a crash (don't even ask how it happened, I have no idea...).
In moments, Dr. Inferno and his henchmen had descended on the area, this time attempting to steal parts from the Green Grocer (they had heard they fetch a good price on Bricklink).
Break Jaw and the Gold Tooth Gang raided the grocer, taking all the food pieces they could find. Saw Fist and Spy Clops were assigned to crowd control, and Dr. Inferno himself was getting rid of a pesky tail. Debris flew in all directions as the truck sank farther and farther into the building's structure.

If you'd like to join footsore311 and I, please let us know. Several members of our cleanup group will be out of state during this spring cleanup. We'd welcome additional help hauling marine debris from the beach - plus, it's a great excuse to go backpacking at the coast!
Not up for an overnighter? No problem! There are over fifty beaches to pick from and many have easy access!
