Divers help cleanup at Redondo Beach. Over 14,000 volunteers took part in Coastal Cleanup Day in Los Angeles County, cleaning up beaches, parks, alleys, creeks, highways and storm drains at 69 different sites. Over 300,000 pounds of debris and recyclables were removed by the various environmental organizations, community groups, families, local businesses, faith-based organizations and students that took part. The Royal Commission of Yanbu has arranged a cleanup campaign for this year 2007 as part of the international efforts to protect the marine life. More than 200 students has participated in this campaign under the supervision of the Environmental Control Department.
Recovery Act workers are on track to remove more than 30,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil and debris at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory by September 2011.
The Recovery Act invested $14.3 million in legacy cleanup activities at SLAC. In addition to removing contaminated soil and debris that is shipped to local disposal facilities, Recovery Act workers installed three new groundwater treatment systems.

More than 700 volunteers cleared the James River and its banks of trash and recyclables on Sept. 10, 2016. The cleanup covered 17 sites in the cities of Richmond, Newport News, Petersburg and Lynchburg, and Chesterfield, Henrico, Goochland, Powhatan, Appomattox, Buckingham, Charles City and Isle of Wight counties. This is the 17th year for the cleanup, which is organized by the James River Advisory Council, jrac-va.org.
Taking part in an active environmental community is paramount which is why we not only organise our own beach cleanup events but also help out whenever we are invited to join other organisations or groups who organise events which share our goals and dreams!

Mega flooding all over central and southern Alberta yesterday and today... My place is above the flood plain here in Calgary, but still quite close to this location but not far from some of the major flooding...

On the 22nd of March, SECONN Divers did a cleanup dive in the Mystic river south of the bridge. Six divers and 8 shpre crew brought up and disposed of quite a bit of trash including one of the old park benches, a bicycle, a cuple of skateboards a scooter and a whole lot of bottles and other general trash.
We left the bench along with a "coffee table" out for the Mystic Irish Parade, which apparently generated a bit of conversation (good!) and then disposed of them Monday morning.
After successfully raising funds to rebuild 97 homes that were lost to the recent typhoon in the Philippines, Mio Cade is seeking more donations to rebuild another 49 homes.
