On 16 March 2020 all YPRL branches (including book return chutes) were closed after the Victorian State Government declared a State of Emergency in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. During this time Ivanhoe Library staff worked to clean out the building in preparation for its demolition prior to the opening of the new Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub Project later in 2020. Staff vacated the building on 31 May.

Today I wanted to get the office organized but it started there then went to guest room and finished in office ;)
To start with I put on my big girl pants and decided to downsize my walk in closet in the guest room that housed my costumes and other props/doll stuff and I actually decided today was the day to let them go - 90% anyways, I did keep just a couple things (mainly my dance costumes from my childhood)
I then took out the 2nd garment bag and put it in the office closet and now using it for all my ebay clothes, mainly Disney Dapper dresses/purses that need to leave) this will keep them dust free till I can get to listing them.
Back to guest room again I did hang up a bunch of vintage dresses/clothes that don't fit any longer and my daughter and her friend will come out and have fun picking what they want. (what they don't want will be donated) Then the closet will be cleared out for my mom to hang her close up in here.
So excited to have done this - it's time to get stuff gone and make room for new things in our lives.

About 200 19th Engineer Battalion Soldiers returnedfrom a deployment to New
York in support of Superstorm Sandy relief efforts and were honored during a
ceremony at Fort Knox's Natcher Physical Fitness Center on Dec. 11 at 10:30
a.m.
The 19th Engineer Battalion deployed to New York Nov. 2 and 3 to provide
command and control for water pumping elements operated by more than 600
servicemembers from all branches of the military and provided debris
cleanout services as needed.
During the deployment, the unit removed 13,250,000 gallons of water and
1,350 tons of debris.

Ramona is an Aubrey Encore that I took to Costa Rica for my niece to play with on vacation. My niece ended up really liking her so I did a little work (eye chips, makeup) in CR and then fixed everything up a bit when I came home. Ramona arrived in Boulder, CO yesterday, in time for my niece's 10th bday on Monday. It was a lot of fun to "give the gift of Blythe" and share my love for this dolly with my wonderful niece.
Also - thank you to everyone who put in little extras from your cleanouts, etc. for Sarah's gift. It means a lot to me!
In the course of the work they've been doing around my house to clear up a major drainage issue, the geniuses not only cut my cable and telephone lines and nearly killed themselves by smashing the high voltage electrical box, they also managed to shear off the sewer line clean-out.
The sewer line from my house subsequently filled with dirt and mud, and my bathtub literally filled with shit.
That half moon of plastic is all that is left of the clean-out, and the entire area stank like, well, shit!
