The Cumberland and Knox Railroad is the newest operator of Maine's scenic Rockland Branch, and one that I am particularly hopeful for. I've always had a fondness for this line, due to its scenic route, troubled past, and my childhood memories of hoping to see a freight train along it. Today, the cement traffic from Thomaston seems to be picking up in recent months, with promises of more customers soon as well. Additionally, the pieces are coming together on passenger excursions to be offered on the line soon. The future looks bright and I hope to spend more time on this railroad as this hopeful growth unfolds.
On this day, I came up for some food and Christmas shopping, but needed something to kill time between my breakfast at Frosty's and lunch at Sea Dog (both places I frequent and highly recommend). As luck would have it, C&K was running west with one of the longest trains the branch has seen in recent memory. The matched power, despite being leasers, was definitely a welcome sight. This would provide the perfect time for a chase back into Brunswick, before we parted ways. The train to pick up a handful of cars at Hardings to bring to Rockland, and myself to get some long-awaited food. All in all, a day well spent!

BCOL 4601 leads 331 by Garden Ave in Brantford with a short 50 car train.
4601 was just recently washed and was looking nice and snazzy.
Here is a cute pair of Galahs, the male one is giving the female one a nice clean, the male is on the right and the female is on the left.
A clean USSC GP38-2 leads a Moore Haven turn towards the Clewiston mill on a cool south central Florida day. Lows in the fields this day were in the mid to upper 30s, with highs in the mid 50s.
Green Bay & Western RS27 318 is switching out train # 2 after it's arrival at Wisconsin Rapids in June 1978.

Black Nore Lighthouse down in Somerset on a gorgeous summer morning. Not many images of this lovely lighthouse, possibly because it looks inaccessible, but there is a public footpath that leads to the coastline.

Adam, our most Excellent Plumber was here today. He cleaned the fireplace and has recommended that I get a new commode for the Master Bath. It's 30 years old as far as I know so it's time that the Queen has a new Throne!
The first week of the Rail Head Treatment Train season is over and the Tonbridge West Yard based locomotives and tank wagons are still clean.
This cleanliness will not last, and over the coming weeks a heavy layer of grime will build up as the RHTT workings spray the rails to blast away the leaves on the line.
