Last night the two surface mount LEDs that flank the joystick flickered into life while my phone was sat idle on my desk. I decided to leave it overnight to see if it was water between the contacts which might evaporate off as my phone had been in the bathroom earlier in the day, but many hours before the incident.
This morning they were still on so i took the phone apart and gave it a clean, put it back together and they were still on. The phone works fine, but those lights are draining battery... and i hate wasting juice.
I don't think it's worth trying to find/buy a replacement board and a phone repair shop would just charge me £30 to clean it. So either i burn them out with a soldering iron or i live with it.
I'd rather not burn anything out of my phone with a soldering iron...

Despite the heat, over forty-two arrived early on Saturday, July 1, 2017, to help Clean Bread and Cheese Creek Community Cleanups remove over 62 bags of trash including a toilet, a mattress, a shopping cart, carpet, a suitcase, a crushed tool box, a horseshoe, a pick axe head, a beach ball and much more from three of our communities War of 1812 Monuments: Battle Acre Park, North Point Battlefield Park, and the Methodist Meeting House Monument and Bread and Cheese Creek at North Point Road. In addition to removing trash from the sites we also removed weeds from the brick work and monuments, cleaned the monument drains at Battle Acre, as well as mulching the area around the Methodist Meeting House Monument. We would truly like to thank AmeriCorps NCCC and all the volunteers from the community who gave up their Saturday Morning to help us beautify and clean this important historic sites! Those who have given their lives defending our country should never be forgotten no longer how long ago their sacrifice was made
We would also like to thank the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, American Rivers for all their assistance and support on this cleanup. Thank you so very much everyone for all your incredible help to make this another wonderfully successful cleanup!

• Alexandra Ramey from Rising Sun Center for Opportunity on their Green House Call Service
We presented three climate actions that people can take to use clean energy in their own homes:
• Use Renewable Electricity
• Get a Home Energy Checkup
• Install Solar Panels
After the talks, we discussed our personal experiences about using clean energy in our homes and connected experts with people who are just getting started. Solar energy developer David Kunhardt shared helpful tips about installing solar panels and answered questions from participants considering this home improvement. Other participants shared practical information about using renewable energy in their own lives and helping their communities do the same.
This free community event took place at the Sewerage Agency of Southern Marin (SASM) at 450 Sycamore Avenue in Mill Valley, across from the MV Middle School.

The European Union Delegation to the U.S. resumed their tradition – paused by the COVID-19 pandemic last year – of organizing an annual environmental clean-up event as part of the EU’s international ocean-activism and awareness-raising campaign #EUBeachCleanup. This year’s cleanup took place on September 25, 2021 and focused on the Anacostia River and Anacostia Park.
Organized in partnership with Anacostia Riverkeeper and joined by diplomats from European Union Member State embassies in Washington, D.C., the joint cleanup effort managed to collect over 2050 pounds of trash from the banks of the Anacostia River, including over 300 lbs of single use plastic bottles, helping keep waste and plastics out of our waterways.
The EU is spearheading global efforts to reduce and avoid plastic pollution, including marine litter. Next to ambitious reuse and recycling targets, EU policy helps reducing single use plastics and microplastics as well as waste from lost fishing gear.
