a classroom in what was the science block in my day. how the kids work with that colour on the wall is anyone's guess
One of the classrooms I will be teaching in. It fits about 20 desks. There are 40 students enrolled in each class. This is the view from the doorway.
CVCD is an amazing organization that gives back to the Phnom Penh community. Cambodian Volunteers for Community Development.
They train members in the community in English language, computers, rice mill/production, garment and manufacturing, in addition to educating the kids in the villages.
Video of my teaching experience:
Drawn mostly at afternoon break, about fifteen minutes, with a bit of linework added at the end of the afternoon, which may help explain why I got the perspective wrong on the bench. I added colours from memory afterwards. To the side of the sink are bottles of drinking water that the children are allowed to have access to during the day. We had to make do with a drink at lunch or from a water fountain by the headteacher's office. I may set this scene as a subject for the new sketching group in the school, the last group did well with subjects like bookcases and doors.
