A quiet day on the river in front of the castle.
Usually when I've been down there the river has either been fast-flowing or wind-whipped (occasionally both!). So it was good to see some reflections, even though there must be dozens of similar shots on flickr!
For any eagle-eyed followers of Downton Abbey, you may have noticed in the recent film version that one of the daughters & her Earl of Hexham husband were very briefly seen driving up the curving track below the castle. Sadly for me, not particularly a Downton follower, it was the one and only scene from Alnwick!
A Utah Railway "Martin Turn" expedites a train of coal empties, departing Provo Yard through Springville, Utah the afternoon of Oct. 10, 1976. I wish I'd had a tape recorder with me that day!
This church was built in the 1930's and fits in perfectly with the surrounding architecture of the Santa Barbara area.
