"The fountains mingle with the river
And the rivers with the ocean,
The winds of heaven mix forever
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
In one spirit meet and mingle.
Why not I with thine?
See the mountains kiss high heaven
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister-flower would be forgiven
f it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth
And the moonbeams kiss the sea:
What is all this sweet work worth
If thou kiss not me?" - Percy Bysshe Shelley

An antique leather diary , that, I came across in Jaipur , Rajasthan , India. Was fascinated by the texture and artwork on the leather and the artistic metal clasp.

#Closed clasp on antique bracelet inspired by #MacroMondays. This has been fun to pull out tiny TSA locks, Rapidograph pens and ink, and tiny clasps.

Throughout life, one does not miss any chance to hold onto the things that are really precious, if one is truly wise.

Building Bridges, an installation by Lorenzo Quinn consisting of six pairs of hands arching 50 feet over a waterway at the Arsenale former shipyard in Venice’s eastern Castello District. Made from white resin to mimic the white marble seen around Venice, the hands symbolize the need to build bridges and overcome differences.
Each pair is clasped in a different way to highlight six values, including friendship, hope, love, help, faith, and wisdom.
Streptanthus maculatus from Sabine County. I've been looking for this rare member of the mustard family in Weches outcrops of Sabine and San Augustine County for years now. There are a number of old records, however Most of these have been converted to glauconite mines and no longer support the rare and highly endemic plant communities that once thrived.
My search finally came to an end rather unceremoniously as we were driving a backroad and Caro shouted that she had seen an interesting purple flower. There among a carpet of Clinopodium arkansanum were several blooming individuals of S. maculatus.
This annual member of the mustard family (Brassicaceae) is endemic to the West Gulf Coastal Plain, where it is edaphically restricted to areas with iron-rich outcrops.
The Macro Monday theme for 7/24 is buckle. (The admin said we could use a toggle and I extrapolated that to include a clasp, also.) We have a dearth of typical belts, so I went hunting for stand-ins. There are a few possibilities so I’ll dither, naturally.
This may be the clearest example of a “buckle” in the collection of possibilities bc without it, the watch wouldn’t stay on your wrist!
