Citytours.sg: "In 1987, SRC was awarded with the tender license to run river services on Singapore River and the bumboats were once again brought into Singapore River by SRC to preserve the river heritage of its old charm and memory. This marks a new chapter in the Singapore River history, as SRC become the first to operate such service.
The bumboat rides have been well received by tourists and the locals. From a humble fleet of 4 bumboats in 1987, SRC has since increased its number to 24 today with a few new additions coming onboard soon."

I take the Singapore river cruise in the day but it will be better cruising the river in the evening...cool and attractive with all the lights as you can see in this image. I have a meal in Clarke Quay and pass the Riverwalk promenade to Boat Quay for drinks. You will like the bars and pubs along Boat Quay...such good entertainment!
The lighted bridge is the Coleman bridge. The building that is "rainbow colour" lit is the Old Hill Street Police Station which is a national monument and it is now occupied by the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts.
