These were two reflective balls, all part of the Luminato Festival that occurs in Toronto every June.
Between glass and sky, boundaries dissolve: The crane houses in Cologne mirror themselves in a complex choreography of shapes and lines. Only on closer inspection does it become clear what is real – and what is merely reflection.

the cold skin of the city stretches endlessly skyward. only in the reflections of storefronts flickers something humanâbrief, warm, almost tender. it is the kind of stillness you only hear when walking alone through rain-polished streets, the world wrapped in silence and light.
I’m standing on the TST promenade in Hong Kong at 6:04 in the morning, way earlier than I’d ever crawl out of bed back home, but travel days do weird things to my alarm clock. The harbor water sits still enough to catch the skyline’s glow, and a few joggers puff past while I fiddle with my camera. Apart from them, I only spot one other guy—looks local—quietly lining up his own shots. The air is cool, the city’s just waking. Not bad for being up before most people have their first coffee.

Das Museum ist nicht sichtbar. Aber das Gerücht hält sich hartnäckig, es hätte ein echt gutes Spiegelbild.
through the lens, this moment captures the essence of solitude in an urban jungle. the stark contrast of the monochrome palette mirrors the sharp lines of the architecture, as if the city itself is drawing a path to nowhere. the two figures, barely more than silhouettes, seem to be mere echoes of each other, drifting apart yet connected by the reflection on the glass. there’s a sense of distance, both physical and emotional, as they tread towards the vanishing point, each carrying the weight of their journeys. this bridge over landsberger straße in münchen, typically bustling with life, now becomes a stage for introspection—a quiet pause amidst the city’s relentless pace.
This is the beautiful, highly glazed city of Vancouver. The reflection top right reminds me of a robot!! If it were a robot it would have been behind me which would have been a little scary!!:)
I remember a cool night stroll by the river when the urban landscape unfolded before my eyes, a mix of dynamic architectural light and the serene flow of water, all under a sky filled with clouds. A vibrant night cityscape where a modern skyline of brilliantly lit skyscrapers reflects on calm river waters.
through fractured glass and concrete ribs, the city reveals its hidden geometry. caught between reflection and silhouette, a quiet moment on the moveâan anonymous portrait framed by architectureâs own gaze.
City Reflections is a two-part 2009 bronze sculpture by Patti Warashina. It is located near the intersection of Southwest 6th Avenue and Southwest Main Street in Portland, Oregon.

I visited downtown Portland on foot today for a photowalk. It has been years...
More to come from the outing.
beneath the soaring dome of light and steel, a man walks toward the flag — silent, solitary, framed by reflections that bend the space around him. here, architecture becomes symbol, and a fleeting step echoes like a question left unanswered.
Off the downtown Tulsa Main street is a new business 36° N, today I like the reflection cast from the window. Tulsa Oklahoma falls on the 36° N latitude may be one of the reasons for the name.
in the thick heat of midday, the pharmacy glows like a theatrical set — a portal between commerce and solitude. she steps out with shadows on her shoulders, caught between the glossy promises of youth and the ordinary gravity of age. the advertisement stares ahead with eternal smoothness, while her gaze drops, quietly human. this is the anatomy of contrast — not just of light, but of lives.
the world bends and warps behind the glass blocks. figures split, multiply, distort. green patches flicker like broken pixels in an old screen. a reality rearranged by architecture. a city fragmented.
standing on west 33rd street, near hudson yards, i tilted my lens upward. the skyscrapers rose like steel giants, their glass facades reflecting the city's pulse. a faint rainbow arched across the sky, a delicate contrast to the rigid lines of architecture. in that moment, the convergence of human ambition and nature's subtle beauty was palpable.
3rd and Kenosha Tulsa OK had to stop and find the spot I liked the best for the street sign and sign reflection.
as he walks through the lattice of light and stone, his shadow unfolds like a second body — angular, quiet, uninvited. the grid beneath him holds no direction, only repetition. in this boxed geometry of street and solitude, presence is just a darker echo.
I just wanted to wish my hometown country of Canada a Happy Birthday ! This is an older image from Canada Place in the heart of Vancouver BC.
Thanks for looking !

in the heart of palma de mallorca's old town, this photograph captures the storefront of a phone repair shop. as a quirky display, old and broken phones are stacked high in the window, creating a visually chaotic yet intriguingly patterned scene. the arrangement of these discarded devices forms lines that stand in stark contrast to the reflection of a passerby in a jersey, adding a layer of dynamic interaction between the structured chaos and the life outside.
another beautiful haiku by my dear friend [https://www.flickr.com/photos/canonmao/]:
graveyard headstones
Names all known to us all
Ringtone silent
I was out late, wandering the quiet streets and soaking in the city's pulse. At exactly 10:56 pm, with the lights turning off at 11 as scheduled, I managed to snag this neon-filled shot. In this image, the city skyline bursts into a colorful display of neon as reflections dance on the calm water below. The crispness of the moment—a brief pause before everything dims—adds a unique urban twist to this night-time exploration.

captured on broadway, this photograph features a man taking a brief respite. just as he notices the camera, he acknowledges it with a smile, embodying a moment of spontaneous connection and perhaps a lesson in openness for us all. the reflection in the window creates a captivating symmetry, emphasizing the urban environment and the human element within it. this candid shot highlights the beauty of everyday encounters in the city.
The same spot and the same view as before, but slightly earlier and under more interesting lighting. The sun sets very quickly in the tropics.
