Since 2012 Arriva is the main operator of bus services in the north of the province Zuid-Holland. For most of the regional services VDL Citea buses are used.

Opzich lijkt dit niet zo'n speciale foto maar hier is een leuk detail te zien. Een bus gebouwd in Roeselare, in dienst bij een bedrijf in Roeselare, op een stadslijn van Roeselare, in Roeselare met Roeselare op de filmkast! Een echt Roeselaarse bus dus!

Als voorlaatste stop van mijn dagje bussen fotograferen, was Amsterdam aan de beurt. Hier vlakbij het Centraal Station zien de 9757 vertrekken als lijn 347 naar Uithoorn

Since last year a fleet of electric buses is in use for the bus services around Schiphol. For these services VDL Citea SLFA (Low Floor Articulated) buses are used. At Schiphol Noord there is a charging station for these buses.

The Prince Bishops brand is one of the more striking and effective liveries from Go North East collection. This is the original version, which I prefer, although the updated style may have better suited this 13.7 metre VDL Citea. The name is a clever take on the ‘Land of the Prince Bishops’ slogan incorporated on County Durham boundary signage, the colour emphasing its royal connotation. Prince Bishops service 20 and its 20A and X20 variations provide frequent connections across the county boundary from Durham City to Sunderland and vice versa. In reality, constraints in Durham bus station are likely to preclude the use of tri-axle or articulated single-deckers, my money being on an upgrade to double-decker operation in due course (21-Mar-13).
