"Many identical objects" is the theme this week and I thought Royal Donuts' cinnamon rolls should be represented. They're the best. "Smile on Saturday"
For Looking Close…on Friday, a cinnamon roll on a Limoges porcelain plate with a tiny guest waiting for a morsel! 🍰
Shhh..... Don't tell anyone, but Danish pastry isn't really Danish, originally.
In Denmark it's called 'Wienerbroed' = Bread from Vienna.
We were introduced to it in 1850, when a strike among Danish bakers opened the door for chefs from Austria.
'Wienerbroed' comes in all shapes and sizes.
What they all have in common is thousands of calories.
The last step in the directions for Pillsbury's Orange Rolls says to spread the icing. I followed the directions...
Love Orange Rolls! This one is on a ceramic plate I bought at Crate & Barrel some years ago. The design is by Luli Sanchez. I have three of them, each with a unique design by her.

Another technique photo for the cinnamon roll recipe. As you can see I did a poor job of folding over at the beginning but in the end they tasted great so I guess that's all that matters.
Now the cinnamon rolls are ready to put in the oven. As you can see, you can tel they're fully proofed because they are touching each other.
Summer like temperatures are arriving to Alaska - so when I want a fresh cinnamon roll - I simply pop them out of their frozen package and bake them in my Breville. No fuss - no muss - and no heating up my kitchen with my large oven.

I really am struggling with some concepts lately and its driving me completely insane. I'm sure I'll complain more about this in my blog a little later. Good news is, the Packers covered the spread and so I'm up a hundred (imaginary) bucks...haha. Now I only need the Steelers to cover, although its looking good so far.
Strobist info in the setup shot, see comments...
Mix about 2/3 of the flour with sugar, cardamon, dry yeast and salt in a big bowl. Make sure to distribute the yeast well. The rest of the flour will be used later.
小麦粉(分量の約3分の2)・砂糖・カルダモン・ドライイースト・塩を良く混ぜる。
May 1st and it has been spitting snow all day. Doc and I cozied in and enjoyed cinnamon buns, choosing to ignore the weather. I saved a few for my Flickr friends, but you'd better be quick - Doc has an incredible appetite.
A quick little build for the Builder Improvement Initiative monthly challenge, the "BIIish Bake off". It was loads of fun, just like last time, and I'd encourage everyone to join the discord server and check it out!
Feedback is always appreciated,
Happy Building!
This image was made back when I was recovering from knee surgery last August. What a change 9 months has made! Now, instead of stuffing pastries in my mouth and lounging with a book in the morning sun, I'm lacing up my shoes for 10+ mile runs every weekend. The half-marathon is in 15 days!

The swirl of a cinnamon roll is like life’s journey, twisted and sweet, and filled with surprises. HSS!

Melt the butter and add the milk. Heat the mixture to around 50 degrees centigrade.
[Whereas fresh yeast needs a temperature close to body temperature, or 37 degrees, dry yeast needs a higher temperature - something a lot of people seem to be unaware of]
バターを鍋に溶かし、すべて溶けたら牛乳を少しずつ入れ、50℃くらいまで温める。
