Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!
This picture is for the group Happy Caturday and this week the theme is "Autumn and my cat".
Elijah is wishing that these little rubber mice would become real. Before laying down next to the pumpkin he had to taste the stem... he didn't like it. :)
All throughout the Southwest there is evidence of old volcanic activity with lava flows, calderas and cinder cones. Not sure if this is a volcanic cinder cone or an example or extreme weathering of sedimentary rock. Could not get close enough to tell.

“Soon, the whole world would be searching for her--Linh Cinder.
A deformed cyborg with a missing foot.
A Lunar with a stolen identity.
A mechanic with no one to run to, nowhere to go.
But they will be looking for a ghost.”

I don't usually walk further than Cinder Hill farm because the puddles are too deep ... but this day the pathway was passable so I walked on further and further ....
My flickr Friend Ramen told me I should visit and climb the cinder cone at Lassen National Park to get a look at the colorful lava beds nearby. Cinder Cone is a 700 ft (210 m)-high volcanic cone of loose scoria. What he didn't tell me was it was going to be 95 degrees when I visited. The good part was it wasn't crowded climbing up the steep trail of loose cinders to the top of the cone in the heat and there was indeed a fantastic view from the top.

Featured: Bloom! Firehearth V2
This fireplace and hearth combination is beautiful and features great and detailed decor. It has the potential to fit in many periods of decor and architecture and is a fun fall piece to include in any building or home needing the added warmth of a crackling fire fit with animations designed to let you cuddle up with your favorite 'fall boo'.

This is the initial descent from the summit of South Sister. The first mile or so takes you straight down this cinder ridge above Lewis Glacier and past the small lake you see at the bottom. The hikers in the distance are probably about 500 feet lower than me on the mountain since I’m looking down a pretty steep incline here (see previous photo for the exact angle).

Mojave National Preserve. The place is much as it was back in the day, except everything has deteriorated.
I caught this view on our way to Vik in southern Iceland. It must be unnerving to live so close to the volcanic just like what we saw in Big Island, Hawaii. There seems to be a similarity in the way of life between the two volcanic islands, each of their own.
The first time I visited Snow Canyon years ago, I was amazed at all of the volcanic rock I saw. I wondered where the source was. Turns out, I didn’t have to look far. Here’s one of a couple volcanic cones in the area.
