Yesterday in particular I was being an impatient asshole all day.
Yeah, sometimes Chloe doesn't listen. Well actually she loves to ask again when I say no. I find this increasingly annoying if it doesn't stop. Then she'll cry and I'll get annoyed that she is crying over something so trivial. So then that usually leads to me telling her to stop crying. Which may or may not perpetuate the situation.
But yesterday I was in an unusually bad mood. I think I apologized to Chloe three times during the day.
But here's the kicker.
I'm being a cocksucker, thinking to myself this kid must be hating life with me right now. And we're walking from the car coming back from the lake with these thoughts running through my head. The kid goes to me:
"You're the best daddy in the whole world EVER!"
And I'm standing there walking looking down like "really?"
I guess I wasn't as bad as I thought I was being. However after every apology of my dickhood yesterday, the babe did not offer any rebuttal. Which is her way of agreeing with my admittance of the shitty attitude.
However the cool thing about my babe? Forgives easily. I don't know if it's a kid thing or a Chloe thing or a Chloe/Daddy thing. But I could seemingly do anything and apologize to her after the fact and I'll usually get a "that's okay Daddy!". I'm thinking I probably SHOULD be getting something like, "Yeah DAD, and go find me 5 sticks outside, PRONTO! You have 5 minutes, that's 1 minute per stick DAD, now GO!".
No but seriously I always make note to apologize to Chloe if I acted irrational. Which I can do often as I have been an impatient person since as long as I can remember. Although I am NOT the apologetic type unless a situation seriously calls for it.
Chloe likes to waste my tape and make inventions. Today she made a microphone on the end of a stick with a ball of duct tape. She took a string and a broken clothes hanger and made it a fishing rod too. And let me tell ya people, she was entirely proud of the very first microphone fishing rod. I have to say, the kid is on to something.
I found this picture as seen browsing through my archives. I can't believe I almost let this one slip away. It may be my favorite picture of Chloe and I that I've ever come across. I was so happy to find this hiding in my computer. I could stare at this picture forever and more.
That dear world is my daughter Chloe. This photo is for me the perfect representation of our love for each other at this stage in her life. That talkative sweet bossy sympathetic whiney happy determined driven bratty and sweet little girl fucking ROCKS. Kid teeth and the whole damn package.

Chronicles of Lifting Light
There is a certain daring “edge” in acting out a role-playing game on a partner(s) in public, especially if (in our case) one favors Jewel thievery Games.
It’s a certain adrenaline thrill, both addictive and desirable, that increases up until the “mark” is relived of one or more of her dangling valuables.
Whether its carried out with a simple bump, a lift conveyed while, say dancing, or a squeeze play maneuvered with a second player, with the intention of pickpocketing the jewels they wear, or more subtle games of trickery or simple robbery, it all creates and holds a level of excitement most thrilling in its nature, quite erotic within its scope.
These Chronicles contain short essays on pickpocketing and thievery games played solely within our group over the past few years.
These were games only, done with full knowledge and consent of all the players (with a couple of exceptions where the parties involved were not informed of the actual happenings until sometime after the fact.)
Any articles of jewelry lifted or “Stolen” were returned to their original owners, albeit sometimes those owners at first thought the jewelry being returned had just simply fallen away.
The actual facts have been stretched, padded, and enhanced, due primarily to the significant detail that I rather like those in my immediate circle, and in order to keep them liking me, have agreed to “put meat on the bone” so to speak when putting pen to paper.
These Chronicles far from complete, and additional stories will be added as they are played out.

Though, ADDA DADA is happy to report that there were no Flying Monkeys.

In Pushkin's poem, an old man and woman have been living poorly for many years. They have a small hut, and every day the man goes out to fish. One day, he throws in his net and pulls out seaweed two times in succession, but on the third time he pulls out a golden fish. The fish pleads for its life, promising any wish in return. However, the old man is scared by the fact that a fish can speak; he says he does not want anything, and lets the fish go. When he returns and tells his wife about the golden fish, she gets angry and tells her husband to go ask the fish for a new trough, as theirs is broken, and the fish happily grants this small request. The next day, the wife asks for a new house, and the fish grants this also. Then, in succession, the wife asks for a palace, to become a noble lady, to become the ruler of her province, to become the tsarina, and finally to become the Ruler of the Sea and to subjugate the golden fish completely to her boundless will. As the man goes to ask for each item, the sea becomes more and more stormy, until the last request, where the man can hardly hear himself think. When he asks that his wife be made the Ruler of the Sea, the fish cures her greed by putting her back in the old hut and giving back the broken trough.

This one of my favorite scenes of the Peleg Chronicles. It's where Lord McDougal, Fergus and a band of faithful warriors come to face off against three 13 foot tall giants. I'm not going to tell you who these giants are and how in the world our heroes got into this predicament. You are going to have to read these awesome books for yourself. ;)
