Did you know that Alfred Hitchcock used Bosco chocolate syrup as fake blood for the shower scene in Psycho? Anybody remember the jars with clown lids? I always wanted one as a kid, but they were too expensive.

I don't often order dessert, but when I do, this rich, decadent, chocolate brownie cookie, served warm, with ice cream really hits the spot! Treadmill here I come! LoL!

Ok, it's not Summer yet, but it's 90 degrees in May.
Nothing like a fresh fruit salad with ice cream, whipped cream, and a touch of chocolate syrup to cool off!

Midnight snack - the best part about staying up late :) I have no idea where this idea came from, besides it was late, I was home from work and hungry and I still had to do my SP for the day. I realize this means I spend FAR too much time hanging out in my fridge now, but in my quest for new and creative ways to lights sans pro lighting, I wanted to shoot using only the refrigerator light. Okay, and there were way to many takes from this shoot because I really just wanted to eat my results :)
This is a coffee egg cream.
Ingredients:
One third coffee;
One third Muscle Milk vitamin and protein drink;
One or two tablespoons heavy whipping cream;
One third seltzer water.
In the summer I make it over ice..
Be careful to pour the seltzer in slowly because when it hits the cream it quickly froths up and can go over the rim of the large glass❣️
Alternate Recipe:
Heart Healthy Version
- Uses decaf brewed coffee or decaf instant coffee.
- Uses Muscle Milk instead of chocolate syrup with all its sugar
Unfortunately, I didn't have a chilled glass...;)) so I added:
Ice cubes,
Then I added:
Starbucks Verona Decaffeinated Coffee that I brewed yesterday in a coffee press.
Refrigerated Muscle Milk protein drink,
Refrigerated Seltzer Water from Safeway.
and,
Heavy whipping cream (not whipped.).
and,
3 dollops of freshly whipped cream with Spice Islands Pumpkin Pie Spices and Vanilla extract.
Note:
For my heart-healthy version, I have modified it by using decaffeinated coffee, I used vanilla Muscle Milk as my sweetener instead of chocolate syrup, seltzer, and heavy cream instead of milk.

I'm not a big pumpkin pie fan. I don't like the texture. So I made this instead - double chocolate brownie with mint chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate syrup.
Ingredients:
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
2 tablespoons orange juice
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 1/2 cups Original Bisquick® mix
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350°F. In 1 1/2-quart casserole, mix pie filling, orange juice and almond extract. Microwave uncovered on High about 4 minutes or until bubbly around edge; stir.
2. In medium bowl, mix remaining ingredients except 1/2 teaspoon sugar with spoon until stiff dough forms. Drop dough by 6 spoonfuls (about 1/4 cup each) onto warm pie filling. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon sugar over dough.
3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Serve warm.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Bake 35 to 40 minutes.

This is the only set I picked up from the 2nd Morinaga set. I wanted the bowl & whisk with the whipped cream. There isn't a whole lot of variety in the Morinaga sets, & I don't need that many of similar sets. And of course, the chocolate syrup has stickers that need to be applied. This seems to be the new norm for Re-ment. I don't like it.
INGREDIENTS:
1 box (1 lb 6.5 oz) Betty Crocker® Original Supreme brownie mix (with chocolate syrup pouch)
Water, oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box
1 bag (10 oz) raspberry-flavored or semisweet chocolate chips
1 1/4 cups whipping cream
1 container (1 lb) Betty Crocker® Rich & Creamy cream cheese frosting
1 tablespoon whipping cream
Fresh raspberries, if desired
DIRECTIONS:
1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray or shortening (for easier cutting, line pan with foil, then grease foil on bottom only of pan). Make brownies as directed on box for 13x9-inch pan. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
2. Reserve 1/4 cup chocolate chips for drizzle. In large microwavable bowl, place remaining chocolate chips and 1 1/4 cups whipping cream. Microwave uncovered on High 2 to 3 minutes, stirring once every minute, until chocolate is melted. Stir until mixture is smooth. Refrigerate about 20 minutes or until slightly thickened.
3. Add frosting to chocolate mixture. Beat with electric mixer on high speed 1 to 2 minutes or until well blended and soft peaks form. Spread over cooled brownies, smoothing top.
4. In small microwavable bowl, microwave reserved 1/4 cup chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon whipping cream uncovered on High 30 to 45 seconds, stirring once, until mixture can be stirred smooth. Drizzle over frosting mixture. Refrigerate 1 to 2 hours or until set.
5. Cut into 12 squares; cut each square diagonally in half to make triangles. Garnish with raspberries.

Banana Split Cake (No Bake)
INGREDIENTS:
Crust
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon shortening
2 to 3 tablespoons cold water
Filling
1 can (13.4 oz) dulce de leche
3 ripe medium bananas
1 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
DIRECTIONS:
1. Heat oven to 450°F. In medium bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in shortening, using pastry blender (or pulling 2 table knives through ingredients in opposite directions), until particles are size of small peas. Sprinkle with water, 1 tablespoon at a time, tossing with fork until all flour is moistened and dough almost leaves side of bowl (1 to 2 teaspoons more water can be added if necessary).
2. On lightly floured surface, shape dough into a ball. Flatten ball to 1/2-inch thickness, rounding and smoothing edges. With floured rolling pin, roll dough into 11-inch round, rolling from center to edge. Fold dough in half; place in 9-inch glass pie plate. Unfold; gently press in bottom and up side of plate, being careful not to stretch dough.
3. Fold and roll edge of dough under, even with plate; flute edge. Prick bottom and side of dough generously with fork. Bake 9 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
4. Spoon contents of can of dulce de leche into center of cooled crust; gently spread to edge. Thinly slice bananas; arrange over dulce de leche.
5. In medium bowl, beat whipping cream and powdered sugar with electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form. Spread over bananas.
6.In small resealable freezer plastic bag, place chocolate chips and oil; seal bag. Microwave on High 30 seconds; knead bag to mix melted chips and unmelted chips. Microwave 15 to 30 seconds longer or until all chips are melted and smooth. Snip off tiny corner of bag. Pipe melted chocolate mixture over whipped cream. Store pie in refrigerator.
