Nov. 4, 2007 Chloe 1993-2007
I had to make that decision that those of us with pet companions hate to make. Chloe has had kidney disease for a while and had been doing pretty well. Over the last month or so she was going down hill. Over the last few days she was failing fast. Yesterday, November 3,2007, I helped her cross over to the rainbow bridge.
I've had Chloe since she was 5 weeks old. She was born to a feral in Texas. I captured Momma and kittens. Got Momma spayed and found her a home and tamed the kittens and got them adopted out. I kept Chloe and a sibling, Chibi, who had to be put to sleep at a younger age for health reasons.
At the time had Nermal as well. So at night when we went to bed Nermal would take her place on the bed, as would Chibi. Chloe waited. I would call for her. But she wouldn't join us. When she and Chibi were wee tiny kittens, I kept them in a pet kennel at night. They always knew when I was going to put them in as they would start running ;) I would grab Chibi and Chloe was the escape artist. I would say I got a Chibi. I need a Chloe. So, as it turns out, at night when we went to bed, she wouldn't come if I called Chloe, but if I called.... I need a Chloe, she would come running. To the very last days of her life that stayed with us. :-)
I brushed her and wiped her down, even in distress she purred for me. I told her she was a pretty girl. I got to the veterinarian's - went to the room, got her out of the pet carrier. I told her I loved her, that she was a good girl and I was sorry. I asked her to forgive me for my shortcomings. I told her Nermal and Chibi would welcome her to the rainbow bridge and please give them a hug for me. Gentle kisses and tears to the last seconds.
I need a Chloe.

Chloe, a super shy yet super sweet girl who ran around, hiding behind her mom, and her maid whenever i approached to communicate with her.
Her favourite colour is pink and that day, she was all decked out in in.
Since i couldn't attempt a facial shot as she would often shy away from the camera, i decided to back off and wait for a quiet moment. And that was when she leaned over to adjust her socks.
i thought an indirect approach to this portrait worked out in this shot and i was pretty satisfied even though i didn't have in action with her softball or bubbles.
Chloe and I have been doing Facetime chats every weekend on my iPad and I took a photo of her with my iPhone. We were having so much fun using Snapchat. When she saw this she said to me "Oh my gosh, that's so spooky!" We had a good giggle over this. I think she looks so cool with her Halloween Face on.
Racheal and Chloe built their traditional Gingerbread House today. Chloe has declared that she's going to eat it!
I had met Chloe about a year before this photo session. She suggested doing something with paint and so asked her friend M to come along. M was not at all interested in being in the images and definitely not nude. I asked if she'd be okay with some portraits with Chloe though at the beginning of our session. I made it clear she did not have to get undressed. I took one portrait of her, showed her what I was trying to do, she liked it and took off her clothes and got right into the session.
Over the next year and a half, nearly two, she was in my studio frequently.
This image is from our first session together just a few minutes after she realized being naked was no big deal.

I love it when Chloe comes for a visit. We always get into creating something really cool. We've known each other for over 8 years and it seems like no time at all has passed each time we get together.
Here she is just getting ready for a series I was planning. This image should not have worked at all, my camera was set completely wrong but somehow I was able to pull the image out of the underexposed darkness and save it. Very glad I did!
