Chittagong Railway station is one of the busiest railway stations on the Bangladesh Railway. There are 9 Intercity trains run from this station to the different places of Bangladesh, and there are 11 Mail Express trains run from this station. Not too far from Chittagong Airport is a nice waterfront strip along the banks of the Karnaphuli River. There were boats and ships moored everywhere but this was one of the few days where the sun didn't shine and it was overcast and very hazy but there was enough colour to lift the mood a little.

As I reached the beach it was raining heavily on my side but the other side was clean. It was beautiful and weird at the same time to experience a scenario like this. I wasn’t expecting the rain so I didn’t bring any rain protection for the camera. I didn’t take risk. but it kept raining untill evening. I had to click images with my mobile as much as I can. A splash of rain water in my mobile lens created this effect while Capturing.

প্রতিদিন ভোর ৪টা থেকে ৯টা পর্যন্ত পাইকারি ডিপো থেকে বঙ্গোপসাগর ও অন্যান্য উৎস থেকে ধরা বিভিন্ন ধরনের মাছ বন্দরনগরীর কর্ণফুলী ঘাটে আনা হয়। রাতের সময় ব্যবসাটি সবচেয়ে বেশি ব্যস্ত থাকে, সংখ্যাটি লক্ষ লক্ষে নিয়ে যায়।
এই ঘাটটিতে মোট চারটি জেটি রয়েছে, যার একটি চট্টগ্রাম সিটি কর্পোরেশন দ্বারা পরিচালিত হয় এবং অন্যটি চট্টগ্রাম উন্নয়ন কর্তৃপক্ষের রক্ষণাবেক্ষণের অধীনে। চারদিকে ক্রমাগত উচ্চস্বরে দর কষাকষি প্রাণবন্ত বাণিজ্যের প্রমাণ বহন করে।
ভোরবেলা, শত শত বিশাল ট্রলার এবং মাছ ধরার জাহাজ সাগর ও নদী থেকে উপকূলে উঠে আসে তাদের মাছ ধরার জন্য। প্রতিটি বড় ট্রলার প্রায় এক টন মাছ বহন করতে পারে। প্রতিদিন প্রায় 220টি বাজার ও ছয়টি গুদাম তাদের মাছ বিক্রি করে।
কর্ণফুলী নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত এই বিশাল ঘাটটি চট্টগ্রাম মৎস্য ঘাট নামে পরিচিত বন্দর এলাকার সামুদ্রিক ও দেশীয় মাছের সবচেয়ে বড় মাছের বাজার ধরে রেখেছে। দেশের প্রায় প্রতিটি জেলা এখান থেকে বিভিন্ন ক্যাটাগরির মাছ পাইকারিতে আমদানি করে এবং স্থানীয়দের মধ্যে ব্যবসা শুরু করে।
প্রায় 200 বছর আগে পর্তুগিজদের দ্বারা প্রতিষ্ঠিত, এই মাছ ধরার ঘাটটি এখন এই শহরের কেন্দ্রস্থলে সমৃদ্ধ। রাজখালীর মুখে এবং কর্ণফুলীর তীরে লুসাই কন্যায় অবস্থিত, পাথরের ইকবাল রোডের পূর্বের অবস্থান থেকে সম্প্রতি এটির সরকারী অবস্থান করা হয়েছে।
টুনা, কোরাল, লাক্ষা, ইলিশ, কই, দাতিনা, রেড স্ন্যাপার, সুরমা, কাটলফিশ, দেশি স্কুইড, রূপচাঁদা, চিংড়ি, স্যামন, গলদা চিংড়ি, পোয়া, লাইট্যা, ছুরি মাছ ইত্যাদি ক্রেতাদের মধ্যে সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয়।
ঘাটটি পেশার একটি অনন্য পরিসর চিত্রিত করে। বন্দর নগরীর এই বিশাল ঘাট দ্বারা অনন্য জীবিকা নির্বাহের মাধ্যম। এই বাজার থেকে শুধু জেলেরা জীবিকা নির্বাহ করে তা নয়, বরফ পালনকারী, ব্যাগ বিক্রেতা, কাঠের রক্ষক, জাল মেরামতকারী, পাতা বিক্রেতা, চা বিক্রেতা, ওড়সম্যান এবং আরও অনেকে যারা তাদের জীবিকা নির্বাহের জন্য ঘাটের মাছের বাজারের উপর নির্ভরশীল।
