First time I shot images head on into the Kink bend. I never would I stand there in the race or in qualifying. There is simply no way to quickly duck and get away from a car that impacts the wall where I am standing here, and it isn't a rare occasion either. Just this race weekend it happened at least twice. Also note the amount of rubber flying off - almost every car was visibly shredding tires in that corner, and much of it goes to where I am shooting from. There is no hole in the fence for cameras, so you have to stick the lens against the fence, leaning across an old guard rail and a concrete wall, putting you into a very precarious position. Being bent over the wall like that makes quick escape difficult at best. I used live view to focus and aim the camera so I could stay mostly behind the wall, however, causing a lot of my shots to be aimed past the cars :) Small price to pay for safety in one of the more dangerous locations at Road America. It really isn't a photo location (no hole) but the rules allow to shoot there, while outside of Turn 1 is off limits (gravel trap and bigger wall and fence)
