Ah many people of "my age" will recall "Ker-ching!" - the cry of the West Yorkshire Metro advertising campaigns for the PTE's Saverstrip carnet range of pre-paid tickets. They appeared in these long card formats and you placed the ticket into a cancelling machine where the next 'section' was clipped out. This can be seen on the left of this ticket where I'd undertaken two trips the day I used this adult Day Rover at some time in the 1980s I suspect. As can be seen it was valid on all PTE operated or supported services so gave both bus and rail travel within the West Yorkshire Metropolitan County area. Such ticketing has, in areas such as West Yorkshire, gone backwards with privatisation and fragmentation of operators and services and 'all-modes' tickets are now not easy to deduce and are often more expensive than single operator versions.
The design is very contemporary with a mix of bold and shaded typefaces and the Metro logo on the 'Day Rover' badging along with the comic book cartoon style "ker-ching!!" balloon. Such tickets - other PTE's had them such as Greater Manchester and West Midlands - were such a godsend to my teenage self as the expolorations they allowed...

Now, it is also nationally new. Ching Dong Mann who gathered from the whole country parades a shopping center, unfolding laughter and humor.Moreover, a national selection Ching-Dong contest is held on a grand scale, and each team competes in the central hall for original idea, clothes, and performance to within a time, and delights a spectator with it.
This nice Lake is only couple of kilometers from the Salvadoran Border of San Cristobal, a little bit before arriving in Asunción Mita already in the Maya territory of Guatemala.
They are located in front of the Viboras and Chingo Volcanoes, almost in the border of El Salvador -- a great refuge of wild life and of a great flora which is somehow preserved. It is a nice Lake but unfortunately it is dying and has each year more corn being seeded in its borders which is really sad. The lake has shrunk more than half in the last 10 years, in my appreciation or if not, at least a 30 to 35%. Following this rhythm, it will disappear in 20 years if something is not done to preserve it.
Atractivo turístico de Atescatempa
El municipio cuenta con varios caseríos y aldeas ubicadas entre cerros. En el paisaje destaca el Volcán Víboras y Volcán Chingo, este último resalta por situarse en un punto fronterizo, entre El Salvador y Guatemala. Su cima posee la delimitación fronteriza visible en su bosque.
Ambos volcanes son un refugio verde de vida con abundante flora y fauna. La Laguna de Atescatempa es de los principales atractivos. Gran parte de la humedad proveniente de los volcanes alimenta su cuerpo de agua. De hecho se ubica en terrenos volcánicos. En ella se practica la pesca, famosa por sus mojarras. Sus aguas se aprovechan también para la agricultura.
Significado y pasado de Atescatempa
Atescatempa significa en pipil: "a la orilla de la charca". Los pipiles provenían de territorio propio de lo que hoy es el país vecino de El Salvador. Intentaron establecerse en el lugar pero la historia relata episodios de erupciones e inundaciones que imposibilitaron dichos intentos. En su actual ubicación, Atescatempa se convirtió oficialmente en municipio en 1896.
La leyenda de Atescatempa
Se cuenta que la laguna antes era una princesa, hija del Rey Atescatel. Enamorada de un príncipe de un reinado distinto se le prohibió verle pero desobedeciendo se escapaba. Por ello el rey la castigó atándola durante varios días, y cuando regresó a verla se había convertido en laguna. Así dice la leyenda, pero la laguna es alimentada por caudales, humedad del área y se acrecentó con una inundación proveniente principalmente del Volcán Chingo.
