dinner with huie, eva and eduardo after the meet-the-media-guru talk. we went to this great place in piazzale loreto.
we were starving so we ordered a lot of food: a bowl of hand-pulled noodle soup with roast duck each for me and huie, fried rice with shrimp for eva, fried rice with chicken for eduardo, then we shared a plate of fried wontons, squid with bamboo shoots and mushrooms, kangkung in garlic sauce, and tofu with edamame and scallions. so YUM... :)
Rod had gotten a favorable report from his heart surgeon.. so we decided to treat ourselves to some Chinese Food.
Kung Pao (Chinese: 宫保鸡丁), aka Gong Bao or Kung Po, is a spicy, stir-fried Chinese dish made with chicken, peanuts, vegetables (traditionally leek only), and chili peppers.
Yes, Rod and I love to eat! He's a wonderful companion and is my best friend. My first lover, George, died in an accident in early 1998. We'd been together for over 17 years. He was my best friend, and he was like a father to me. I missed him something terrible I still miss him.
I was alone and very lonely for almost 17 years when Rod wrote me online. We talked on the phone for 4 hours that night, and we talked on the phone for over 8 hours the next night. We both knew right away there was something special between us.
I'm grateful every day for Rod being in my life.
His health isn't so hot. I do a lot of things here for him and for us.
We'll be together for nine years this October.
There's a lot of lonely people in the world.
I wish everybody had someone special in their life.
Rod and I are very fortunate we have each other.
I know this every day, and I do my best to make each day with him special. I believe he feels the same way.
Was at Xian Noodles in Austin, TX and one of the most entertaining parts of your meal is being able to watch the master of hand pulled noodles go to work. This guy hand stretches dough to the proper length and thickness and then rapidly starts to divide it up into noodles. You can get many different thicknesses of noodles at Xian and he does them all with seeming ease.
10,000 hours makes you proficient at mastering a skill. This guy definitely put in his share of time.
