The great wall - constructed between the fifth century B.C. and the 16th century, the Great Wall is the world's longest human-made structure, stretching some 4,000 miles (6,400 kilometers). The best known section was built around 200 B.C. by the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang Di.
"Tulin (Chinese: 土林) meaning Earth Forest is a form of geological clay formation. It takes the form of pillars which from a distance give the impression of a forest. [In my eyes they rather give the impression of a dilapidated temple city.]
There are multiple examples of tulins in Yuanmou County in the Yunnan Province of China, in an area of about 50 square kilometers. The tallest formation has a height of 40 meters (130 ft). The features are one to two million years old. The area was opened for tourism as the Yuanmou Earth Forest (Tulin in Chinese) in 1985."

Finally got the chance to climb up to the top of the Great Wall at Badaling, on the outskirt of Beijing. A bit hotter at the foot of the wall, then became cooler and windy at the top as you climbed up. The made me the HERO.
The portion of the wall running through the site was built in 1504 during the Ming Dynasty, along with a military outpost reflecting the location's strategic importance. The highest point of Badaling is Beibalou, approximately 1,015metres above sea level. The earliest part of the Wall was built thousands of years ago!
Some archaeological survey found that the entire Great Wall with all of its branches measure out to be 21,196 km.

Tiger Leaping Gorge (:虎跳峡) is a canyon on the Yangtze River – locally called the Golden Sands River (金沙江; Jīnshā Jiāng) – located 60 km north of Lijiang City, Yunnan in southwestern China. It is part of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas World Heritage Site.
The Guanyin of Nanshan (Chinese: 南山海上观音圣像) is a 108-metre (354 ft) statue of the bodhisattva Guanyin, sited on the south coast of China's island province Hainan near the Nanshan Temple of Sanya.[1][2] The statue has three aspects: one side faces inland and the other two face the South China Sea, to represent blessing and protection by Guanyin of China and the whole world. One aspect depicts Guanyin cradling a sutra in the left hand and gesturing the Vitaraka Mudra with the right; the second with her palms crossed, holding a string of prayer beads; and the third holding a lotus. As of 2018, this was the twelfth tallest statue in the world

“My father died in the war and when I wanted to join the military myself and revenge him, I wasn’t accepted because of my eye. I have lost it since I was a kid. Apart from that I lost my first wife and my own son together with my land.”
“My son always begged me for money and one day I decided to sell all of the farm land we had in order to help him out, but soon afterwards he disappeared with all the money. He never cared to come back and take care of me as he promised. I have no idea where he is now but I suspect it’s his wife behind all of this.”
“Since I was left with no money and no farm I had it really hard just to survive, since I couldn’t grow any food anymore. Luckily I have found a woman who took me in and to whom I married now.”
“Anyway, tell the people that the life might be hard sometimes, but no one should ever give up! Living is good! … Being able to live here in fact is amazing… be always positive!”
I am sorry, you are crying.
“No,no my friend, it’s just allergy.”

The Saint Sophia Cathedral in Harbin (聖索菲亞教堂) is a former Russian Orthodox church located in the central district of Daoli, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, China. Built in 1907 and expanded from 1923-32, it was closed during the Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution periods, and turned into a museum in 1997.
The church stands 53.3 meters (175 ft) tall, occupies an area of 721 square meters (0.18 acres), and is the perfect example of Neo-Byzantine architecture. The main structure is laid out like a cross with the main hall topped with a huge green tipped dome. Under the bright sun, the church and the square area it lies on looks quite like the Red Square in Moscow.
Pictured is the view of the church from its side, where pigeons gather around its facade. Photographed with the Canon EOS 6D + Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM.

This panorama shows the indoor view of the Bird’s Nest National Stadium used for the Olympics 2008 in Beijing, China. Here you see the chairs fade gradually from red in the bottom to white at the top. It also shows that when the stadium is not used, tourists are invited to ride Segways around the stadium.
This image is stitched together using 22 handheld captures. The original photo shows a 360-degree view but I find the “back” of the photo a bit distracting so I have cropped it to show a 180-degree sweep only. Photographed with the Canon EOS 6D + Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM.

An old man crouches on the floor and fiddles with his phone next to his bike. He wears sneakers with the word “Fashion” painted over them.
Crouching this way while hanging out appears to be the norm for the mainland Chinese people. I don’t know how they do it. When I try the same pose, my feet are never able to lie flat, and my back hurts like hell. Everywhere I go, I see people squatting like this when they hang out. Is it just me? Can you do that?!

This panorama shows the path leading towards the Hall of Supreme Harmony (太和殿) after entering the Gate of Supreme Harmony (太和門). It can easily be seen that all the roofs inside the Forbidden City are glazed in the Imperial yellow (reserved for the emperor), and their walls painted in red for good fortune in Chinese culture.
17 captures were stitched together using cylindrical projection, with a field of view (FOV) of 132.63 x 45.69. Photographed handheld with the Canon EOS 6D + Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L USM.

These are the stadium seatings inside the Bird’s Nest National Stadium. Most of the chairs were painted in a deep red color. Some chairs were painted in white, which would make more sense if you look at the whole stadium as a whole—they form a gradated pattern from the bottom to the top. This would be clearer once I posted a panoramic shot of the stadium.

The Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (中正紀念堂) is a monument erected in memory of Chiang Kai-shek, the former President of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
The Memorial Hall is white with four sides. The octagonal roof is covered with blue glazed tiles. The blue and white colors of the building and the red color of the flowerbeds echo the colors in the flag of Taiwan. The octagonal shape picks up with the symbolism of the number 8, a number traditionally associated in Asia with abundance and good fortune. Two sets of white stairs, each with 89 steps to represent Chiang’s age at the time of his death, lead to the main entrance.

This is a panorama of the Houhai Lake (後海, literally: “Rear Sea”), one of the largest lake in central Beijing. I past by this lake during my hutong rickshaw ride. The water is clear, the trees wiggle ever so gently, and the smog of Beijing seems to all dissipate.
Stitched together with 15 captures on the Canon EOS 6D + Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L USM. FOV is 169.12 x 59.84. It is cropped so the vertical FOV is much less than the original. Cylindrical projection.

This is a close-up view of the Beijing National Aquatics Center (北京國家游泳中心), otherwise known as the Water Cube (水立方). It was built alongside the Bird’s Nest in the Olympic Green for the swimming competitions of the 2008 Summer Olympics.
I have seen it in media a lot but have never been in person until now. It really does look like a lot of water bubbles. Up close, you will see that the facade is translucent with its supporting frame somewhat exposed. At night, it also puts on a light show. But personally I prefer the daytime view better.
