Enjoy! :)

.

He arrived Saturday (after I actually had to contact MOC to get them to ship him to me). He will need real hair and a face, and I might need to trim his eye patch (big John's old one - he has a fancy new one now), but I think he'll work out nicely! I'm a little worried about the size of his head (it's teeny), but his face is pretty big so he might be ok. And he's awfully darn cute X3

I glued his hair on, so he at least won't be bald until the weather is ok again (it's snowing now. ugh). it'll have to come off again for his faceup tho.

He's already a little on the spoiled side. Somehow I have in miniature half of what the big version of John has....

Here is one of my entries for the Chibi competition!

I had the great opportunity to collaborate with AORUS Gaming to recreate their cute little mascot, the AORUS Chibi!

If you want to build your own Chibi, you can head over to the official AORUS website and play the mini-game there!

I designed three colour variations and also added the option to include lavish eyelashes. Of course, Chibi can be build in other colours too!

You don't have to win, just play the game and you get one of the six versions of the instructions! But there are some very cool prizes as well. The game is active from September 1st to the 30th.

Hope you enjoy!

Working on a new concept for an origami book. Anime-esque figures... Starting with a chibi girl. The head is a water bomb, and the body is a frog base. The hair head and body are from equal, 10cm squares of paper. The skirt is from a 2.5cm square.

No glue is necessary for the assembly...

The proportions are not exactly right, hence the "chibi" designation.

Every Tuesday I'm drawing a chibi to get to grips with the copics that I was given for Christmas! Traditional art isn't a strong subject for me, so it's a nice change of pace from my usual digital doodling, and a bit of a challenge once a week to work on my hand steadiness and inking abilities.

This week it was Finnian's turn :)

Chibi Maruko-chan (ちびまる子ちゃん?) is a shōjo manga series by Momoko Sakura, later adapted into an anime TV series by Nippon Animation, which originally aired on Fuji Television from January 7, 1990 to September 27, 1992. The series depicts the simple, everyday life of Momoko Sakura in the times of when she was a little girl where everyone call her Maruko and her family in suburban Japan in the year 1974. The series is set in the former city of Shimizu, now part of Shizuoka City, birthplace of its author.

The first story under the title "Chibi Maruko-chan" was published in the August 1986 edition of the shōjo manga magazine Ribon. Other semi-autobiographical stories by the author had appeared in Ribon and Ribon Original in 1984 and 1985, and were included in the first "Chibi Maruko-chan" tankōbon in 1987. The author first began writing and submitting strips in her final year of senior high school, although Shueisha (the publisher of Ribon and Ribon Original) did not decide to run them until over a year later. The author's intent was to write "essays in manga form".[1] Many stories are inspired by incidents from the author's own life, and some characters are based on her family and friends. The nostalgic, honest and thoughtful tone of the strip led to its becoming popular among a wider audience.

The Chibi Maruko-chan series has spawned numerous games, animated films and merchandising, as well as a second TV series running from 1995 to the present. Maruko's style and themes are sometimes compared to the classic comic Sazae-san. In 1989, the manga tied to receive the Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo.[2] As of 2006, the collected volumes of the manga had sold more than 31 million copies in Japan, making it the fifth best-selling shōjo manga ever.[3] -Wikipedia
