Each evening, we plug in the electric car so that it can refuel with clean, renewable energy that has been produced from our solar photovoltaic (PV) panels. After a full night of charging, the Chevy Volt has sufficient energy to go anywhere from 40 to 100 miles on solar power alone. That’s more than enough for a short commute to the office and a few visits to our installation sites.

Richardson Street Garage in Greenville offers free charging to electric and hybrid vehicles. Saturday of last week there was another red Volt when I pulled in with my red Volt and a white Volt there when I left. The previous Thursday the red Volt was also there.

My Chevy Bolt EV is down to 32 miles remaining, so I'll be charging at the Curtola Park and Ride while I casual carpool to work. It'll be done charging around 6-7pm with hopefully 238+ miles.
