Ottawa Fire Services Chevy Safety 23 Safety Officer's vehicle photographed in the Nepean sector of the city. The Safety Officer responds to working fires, motor vehicle extrication calls, water and ice rescue calls and major Hazmat calls as well accidents involving fire department vehicles.
I photographed this box van ambulance in San Jose. Amazingly enough the Chevy Express van, which was originally introduced in 1996 along with its GMC Savannah twin, continues to exist through model year 2020 as both a cargo & passenger van. Its styling has remained unchanged since 2003.

These two 2003 or newer Chevy Express box van ambulances used to belong to Hall Ambulance in Bakersfield but are now being used as emt training rigs in Glendale, AZ. Hall Ambulance probably has the absolute best looking rigs of any ems provider in California. Norcal Ambulance in Alameda county and Rural Metro in Santa Clara county are tied for 2nd place when it comes to cool graphics. These ambulances can be heard miles away thanks to 2 siren speakers and 2 air horns on the front bumper.

It is unfortunate that GM, unlike Ford and Chrysler, has not seen fit to modernize it's main North American commercial van offering with some of the more modern vehicles it offers in Europe and elsewhere.
The 2020 Chevy Express Redesign, Release Date – Chevrolet Express is a commercial vehicle that Chevy will introduce soon considering a strong market demand for the commercial purpose, especially, the former user.
