This is probably one of the best places for American Pickers. I used to watch that show when I had cable TV. There must be some collectible treasures inside this garage.
Chevron Gas Station in Ghost Town of Nelson, Nevada
Located in southern end of Nevada, in El Dorado Canyon in Clark County, Nevada.
The area known as Nelson was originally called Eldorado in 1775, by the original discoveries of gold in the area that is now Eldorado Canyon. The town was the site of one of the first major gold strikes in Nevada and one of the biggest mining booms in state history. Gold and silver were discovered here around 1859. The rush to the canyon began in 1861.
The community called Nelson was named for Charles Nelson, a camp leader.

Upon twilight the sky softly turns to blue just after the sun has set, while the station lights illuminate the surrounding area!
I was up very early as the sun was finally shining.
According to the news, we will be having much lower temps than normal and lots of rain for the next week.
So I had to get a few minutes of vitamin D.

Chevron Gas Station located at Del Amo and Long Beach Blvd. in Long Beach, California. Conbination Chevron Gas Station and Convenience Store. The Convenience Store recently added a sign: GM Food Mart. This is a photo of Chevron's Corner Sign, with prices as of January 22,2008. Located across the street is a 7 11, McDonalds/CVS as well as a Mobil Gas Station.

Former Chevron Gas Station located 22 Bryant Way in Orinda,CA. The Chevron name was dropped in 2000 as Chevron gave the owner a choice to build a conveince store and discontiune auto care or drop the Chevron name. The owner choose the latter and dropped the longtime affilation and rebranded his gas station under the Valero name. Aside from a new paint job and a new price sign the gas station retained its original gas pumps and auto care service from the days Chevron operated at the site. The owner retired in late 2010 leaving the gas station to sit vacant for only a few months before a new owner acquired the property. Interestintly enough the new owner of this gas station also owns Orinda Motors which is a haven for the "wealthy car enthusiast". The new owner has been able to rebrand his gas station under the name Flying A Gasoline which at one point was an iconic brand across the USA. The Flying A brand was never fully defunct and thanks to a few people ever so dedicated to the name and its rich history in this Country! There are now plans for a few dozen additional gas stations to be rebranded under the Flying A name! I should add that the owner proudly offers full service complete with window washing, air pressure, and oil checks for anyone pulling in for gas.

Coal Harbour is home to Vancouver Harbour Water Aerodrome, located a few blocks from Canada Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre. Within the harbour is a floating gas station for marine vessels. The 2010 Winter Olympics cauldron is installed at Jack Poole Plaza.

Exterior shot of Twin Peaks Tunnel East Portal before reconstruction. This street scene has changed quite a bit with the construction of the Muni Metro system in 1973 but many of the buildings, houses, and businesses on this corner can still be found today.

Welcome to the start of my 2024 photograph collection which start in Los Angeles, United States.
Most of the gas station photos I took came from moving taxis or trains with this one taken from an Uber as it has stopped at the traffic lights.
The Hollywood sign can just be seen peeking out above the top of the houses as well as the bench on the right advertising free syphillis testing.
This gas station has been Chevron branded all through street view going back as far as 2007 with that particular image being quite dull.
