I admit that I had planned another kind of photo of my chess pieces but it seems that my cat didn't like the setup. He jumped onto the chess board, chess pieces were flying all over the place and he was obviously very pleased with himself. I gave up and took a photo of the "slightly" modified scene. Cats always win ...
Posted for the Smile on Saturday theme "Tabletop Game Components".
.... that wears a crown.

For the "Looking close on Friday" challenge - "Crown"
The only crowns I could find were these on chess pieces - two sizes, and two dark and two white queens. 😊

Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box. In life and death we are equal.

For the Saturday challenge: "tabletop game components"
I've only got a few of these crystal glass chess pieces. They glitter in the sunshine, acting like prisms. Sadly I had no sun when I was shooting this time ....

Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970. . Their classic line-up was Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals) and John Deacon (bass).
No - just 3 Chess pawns in a row ;o)
For the Smile on Saturday challenge - Pawns (April 25th 2020)
I love glass, especially crystal glass as it is the purest form, and shoots well in macro. In the 1980s Swarovski made a chess set of crystal glass. It is hard to find pieces now, and these 3 'white' pawns are part of the small collection I've managed to gather

Placed a heavy striped and laminated base beneath and then a Photogenic light stand on either side. Have saved that striped laminated base even moving from Alaska.
Just playing on a rainy day. About as shot; one of many RAW experiments with increasing depth of field. Thanks for looking.
No algorithm on the horizon ;-) It is safe to comment.
Sorry, I accidentally moved the black bishop from the white field beside the queen to the black field. That changes the situation dramatically. Let's start another match LOL.
Looking for a horse for this theme, I came across three extraordinary horses.
The first one on the top left of my breakfast bowl, which I hope I'm not the only one to see ! It was formed from cinnamon and I couldn't miss it without reaching for the camera …
The second one on the right is from the chess set I showed recently …
The third one, the horseshoe horse, comes from our son's workshop for the disabled. There they make smaller, bigger and really big sculptures out of horseshoes …
Forgive me for not being able to decide on any of the three so this time I made a collage which I hope will make you smile ! 😊

Outdoor chess table at Village Chess Shop on Thompson Street in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York City. For more than two decades, New York's chess community has come to the Village Chess shop, now called Chess Forum.
I chose: the odd one, which we did on february 3.
A clear glass chess piece amongst the frosted glass pieces.
About 5cm wide.
Happy Macro Monday.

Macro Mondays: Member’s Choice: Games or Game Pieces
It was very bright and sunny when I was at Borde Hill recently, but the king found a shady spot where he could sit and mull over weighty matters. I'm not sure he made any big decisions, but he definitely did a lot of thinking. :)
Sorting through a cupboard earlier today and came across a Chess Set bought 40 yrs ago. I did a bit of jiggery- pokery in Lightroom for this shot but the colours for real are a deep maroon with the others (not in shot) being Ivory - known as Dieppe pieces.
