So, as mentioned in previous photos, we rented our first ever external flash. Cheryl's been wanting to get photos with her lovely pet snake Amplexus for a while as well, so we figured now was as good a time as any.
However, now I do know why softboxes and other diffusion hardware is a good idea. Don't think these turned out too shabby for a first run, though!
More from my shoot on Sunday. There is very little post-processing work on this photo, just a little tweaking with the skin highlights. The light was shining on this one spot and that is where she posed. It came out as a true representation of that moment.

The owners of the Scranton Lace Factory understood the benefits of early 20th century corporate welfare, and strongly encouraged employees to take advantage of their recreational provisions because it took them away from meeting in groups to form unions outside of the company. Scranton Lace installed bowling alleys on the premises during the height of the employee unionization movement in the United States. The facility also contained a gymnasium, a barber and a fully staffed infirmary. Scranton Lace employed more than 1,400 and was the world’s largest producer of Nottingham lace. Production stopped forever in 2002.
