A young cheetah, exhausted from the chase, lies in the dewy morning grass and clutches the fruits of the hunt seen in an earlier photo, 2022.09.15.8130.Z7ii Something's Up! This is quite a young cheetah -- we could tell because it still had the remains of its mantle, the ridge of fur on its head and back that disguises it as a honey badger when it's a cub so flying predators won't bother with it -- and while in its youth it has become a great chaser. it is still a very lousy killer. Consequently and sadly, this antelope took a painfully long time to die. September 2022 in the Masai Mara National Reserve, southwestern Kenya. ©2022 John M. Hudson | jmhudson1.com

The Cheetah .

This cheetah gave birth to four cubs. After four weeks only two have survived and this cub with the typical silvery strip of fur down its back seems to be more curious and aggressive than the other surviving cub.

Namibia.
Just returned from 12 days touring Namibia. So apologies to all my contacts for not having the time or internet to view and comment on your postings. Will endeavour to catch up over the next few days.
The tour covered the culture, scenery and wildlife of this beautiful country, so a lot of time was spent viewing and photographing from the jeep. Not ideal, but the the only way to see so much in a short time. This Cheetah was in a family group seen on our last full day of the tour.
