This Great Blue Heron was checking out this fish along the bay near Fort Pickens on the West end of Pensacola Beach Florida.

Amazingly, I photographed the same owl at the same cavity 2 years from this day at almost exactly the same time.

My little friend the Robin came to check the feeder, as I was standing near the well. He saw me but wasn't scared and stood there, waiting for me to take his portrait :)

I noticed this morning that Mrs. Maggie was sitting on the nest, the fifth rebuild of this particular nest. When I was able to get back with the camera Mr Maggie brought her some food and was allowed to see the eggs.

You will notice that some used/empty plastic 'coil nail' strips are part of the nest, there are a couple of building sites nearby and the Maggies must have decided the strips would help to keep the nest together.

Always stop at a clearing to check for bears etc. waited a few seconds made some noise, nothing moved so all good.

Now that we are all done with the love photos lets get back to the business of nature:-)

Hope you all had great day yesterday,

House Wren is a common backyard bird, will gladly use nestboxes, or you may find their twig-filled nests in old cans, boots, or boxes lying around in your garage. last Summer I had a pair make nest under our motorized awning,

every time I walked out to the patio they had a fit,

Very curious as you see checking out the new feeder.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Now I could not decide which image to post so I thought I would do both, I`m sure the seagulls were playing in and out of the waves with the spray being caught by the sun.

Time to pause and check those important messages.

Yesterday at the Kamera Börse I was made a sweet offer on a KMZ Horizont. I love the panoramic format and had wanted a Horizont for quite some time so I bought it, with the expectation it would need some clean up and new light seals. Well... the first few frames suggest it's doing just fine. Checking fast shutter speed will have to wait some more clement weather. Oh, and I got a Canon 35mm f/2.8 in new FD mount, another thing I had been after for quite some time.

KMZ Horizont and its 28mm f/2.8 OF-28P, Agfa APX 400 in HC 110 dilution H for 14 min @ 20°C, digitalized using kit zoom with macro rings.
