Lapland Longspur Calcarius lapponicus

I call my blurry, rough photos "Loch Ness photos". It's a term I came up with years ago, not long after I got into bird watching. Lapland Longspur pair + Loch Ness, with a Kevin portmanteau, becomes Lochland Longspair. Yeah, I know it's wacked.
Today the weather was quite nice for viewing birds at Horse Heaven Hills. In a short distance I found several large flocks of Horned Larks, each with Lapland Longspurs. Watching one flock of about 600 I saw about a dozen Lapland Longspurs, getting many cruddy photos of them, while a Snow Bunting gave me a great scope view, but didn't let me steal its soul (Kevin Gringo for take it's photograph). Mittens and DSLR cameras aren't a graceful mix, and my technique is poor.
