The wind was blowing, the sun was setting, and everything was perfect ♬

“No changing of place at a hundred miles an hour will make us one whit stronger, happier, or wiser. There was always more in the world than men could see, walked they ever so slowly; they will see it no better for going fast. The really precious things are thought and sight, not pace”

The Saturdays, Chasing Lights

sakura (桜) cherry blossom air さくら 🌸🍃

Time after time

Alone in the city of whirling blossoms

Those petals fly in the whirling wind

The miracle of meeting you

In a city where the wind whispered through

The hanamidou tells of the end of spring

One petal from this misty flower.

Time After Time (花舞う街で) // In the Street of Dancing Flowers — Mai Kuraki

[theme song for Detective Conan: Crossroad in the Ancient Capital]

"It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it. While you can. While it’s still here… 🍃🗻

Get out there and hunt and fish and mess around with your friends, ramble out yonder and explore the forests, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air, sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, the lovely, mysterious, and awesome space."

— Edward Abbey

“Rivers, ponds, lakes and streams — they all have different names, but they all contain water. Just as religions do — they all contain truths.”

― Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Ali: His Life and Times

"We need the tonic of wildness—At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be infinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable.

We can never have enough of nature. We must be refreshed by the sight of inexhaustible vigor, vast and titanic features, the sea-coast with its wrecks, the wilderness with its living and its decaying trees, the thunder-cloud, and the rain which lasts three weeks and produces freshets.

We need to witness our own limits transgressed, and some life pasturing freely where we never wander" 👟

— Walden by Henry David Thoreau

This photo was pretty simple. A piece of glass, water, spray bottle, Pepsi label and a flash. Not bad for my first time.

"What we find exotic abroad may be what we hunger for in vain at home" —The Art of Travel by Alain de Botton

When I was very small, my favorite light came through the crack under the door separating our front room from the living room. My brother and I would play Barbies and Action Figures (a very involved game, for those in the know) and make fantastical scenes in the warm, golden rays that leaked through.

February doesn't have very many of those warm rays, but the light that comes through our slider is beautiful in a different way. This month has been busy, full of running around and tying up loose ends. When I need a break from the chaos, I like to open the shades, let the sun fill our living room, and just sit.

Returned to my favorite corner in my favorite trailer full of treasures in the Catskills -- one of twelve structures packed floor to ceiling with antiques, all part of Dick Benjamin's antique compound in Monticello, New York. #antiques #catskills #newyork #treasures #treasurehunting #light #shadow #teacup #trailer #pink #haunted #explore #instagood #instadaily #chasinglight

emiknikora: So nice!

040811 - as a photographer i have felt that my style and taste evolve according to my experience. i think that most of the photographers or every photographer will say the same. it's called learning... and experience.

i have been feeling that i am closer and closer to recognize my style, though my friends already say that recognize it. it's always tougher for us to do so, i think.

i believe that one of the statements i will write on my about page on my portfolio page (being designed as we speak), will be about chasing light. chasing light in tree leaves...

i am in love with light... morning light... sunset light. this one was caught during sunset.

The 12-Hour Starshow

Padre Burgos

Province of Quezon

A star trail produced by 12 hours of continuous shoot. From sunset to sunrise. Of course some overexposed parts were thrown away. The light trails created were almost half circles.

Play me a song that reminds me of this. When wood resonated with simple chords, laughter echoed in quiet halls, and every moment rang with adventure. And when we walked in silence because words couldn't say what hearts felt. #sweeterpoetry

DEPICTIONS: A tale of PORTRAITS

Before my marriage to landscape, I was a disciple of portraits.

I missed shooting portraits.

That is why I would like to share some of my collection of portraits taken during a trip with Manny Librodo in Pagsanjan.

I wanted to rekindle my love for portraits and here are some of my work...

A man represents part of a street theater piece, with a speaker, for a lot of people who looks from the other side of the street.

Gotta catch 'em all ☀️⚡️✨

I am water. I am waves. I am the ocean that cannot escape its own depths no matter how many times it breaks - pulled backwards as much as it is shoved forward into a land that does not welcome it.

And so I will keep crashing upon this sunset shore, trusting that, soon, my droplets will refract enough gold to pay off your fear.
