“Sit in reverie and watch the changing color of the waves that break upon the idle seashore of the mind.” ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
My sunset buddy! He took pause for a mere moment ... then went back to his usual shenanigans (eating and throwing sand, stomping through the waves in his boots ...)!
Happy Friday!
“ 'Anything I learnt would have to be justified by private benefit rather than by the interest of others. My discoveries would have to enliven me; they would have in some way to prove ‘life-enhancing’.
The term was Nietzsche's. In the autumn of 1873, Friedrich Nietzsche composed an essay in which he distinguished between collecting facts like an explorer or academic and using already well known facts to the end of inner, psychological enrichment”

Haruki Murakami's— "On Seeing the 100% Perfect Girl One Beautiful April Morning" #💕☔#🌿☁
...
One beautiful April morning, in search of a cup of coffee to start the day, the boy was walking from west to east, while the girl, intending to send a special-delivery letter, was walking from east to west, but along the same narrow street in the Harajuku neighborhood of Tokyo. They passed each other in the very center of the street. The faintest gleam of their lost memories glimmered for the briefest moment in their hearts. Each felt a rumbling in their chest. And they knew:
She is the 100% perfect girl for me.
He is the 100% perfect boy for me.
But the glow of their memories was far too weak, and their thoughts no longer had the clarity of fouteen years earlier. Without a word, they passed each other, disappearing into the crowd. Forever.
A sad story, don’t you think?
Yes, that’s it, that is what I should have said to her. .

A trip to Negros, the sugar capital of the Philippines. These are remnants of an old port of the place, endless structures in the sea.
“This is what you shall do;
Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body.”
― Walt Whitman
“Quand tu veux construire un bateau, ne commence pas par rassembler du bois, couper des planches et distribuer du travail, mais reveille au sein des hommes le desir de la mer grande et large.
If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
“Standing on the snow-covered plain, as if in a pasture amid the hills, I cut my way first through a foot of snow, and then a foot of ice, and open a window under my feet, where, kneeling to drink, I look down into the quiet parlour of the fishes, pervaded by a softened light as through a window of ground glass, with its bright sanded floor the same as in summer; there a perennial waveless serenity reigns as in the amber twilight sky, corresponding to the cool and even temperament of the inhabitants.
Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads.”
— Walden (1854) by Henry David Thoreau

Late autumn scene at Wyresdale, cold bright day, trees in their autumnal colours mirror reflected in the lake.

Just got off the phone with Rachel ... so thinking of my little girl. This is Rachel walking down the beach on our last night in Maui back in 2005 (she was 15 years old) ... and so carefree. Wishing I could transport the family back to this beach ... to this sunset.
I may have done a bit of sliding ... this is what one does on a Sunday!
Happy Sliders Sunday!

Please read from the start of the first photo on this series for even more details of the review.
These photos were used by Canon in their media and dealer launch last 9th of September together with Jason magbanua's video.
The 7d is an excellent upgrade to any 50d users and those not wanting to go full frame. It has better contrast and the jam packed features will definitely help in the outdoor especially the weather sealing (including the buttons). The horizon virtual function is a big help and most of the all the live view which can compensate nd grads from 8-400x.
Sharpness on the other hand was not at par with the FF line up. At 100% zoom it was a bit soft BUT the jpeg copy had some improvements. A little capture sharpening will bring back the lost sharpness.
Overall, the camera is a good buy. Weather sealed, new functions, fully loaded video selections, etc. its a worthy investment.

Time after time
Alone in the city of whirling blossoms
Those petals fly in the whirling wind
The miracle of meeting you
In a city where the wind whispered through
The hanamidou tells of the end of spring
One petal from this misty flower.

Good things come to those who BELIEVE, better things come to those who are PATIENT, & the best things come to those who NEVER GIVE UP!
My outlook to my inner compassion & outer tolerance, can easily make a new world a better world, this is my experience in becoming a Light Chaser & a Chasing Light family. My first step to my new, old world in a better version I should say.
Practice, practice & more practice, to make it perfect, I promise my self to never give up, no one can stop me but myself, God has given me so many talents and I would like to share it to you all.

My first experience to see the aurora borealis, amazing! My husband acccompany me for the night, I want him to see the spontaneous life of a photographer, where you have to be ready in a battle. Gears ready, set ups, message comes & you have to go & run :-)
Run to succeed in the outer world, become to proceed in the inner world, even in the abysmal abyss, hope knows no fear, trust God and BELIEVE.
This is the first step of my journey and it will be miles & miles to go, join me in my walk!

We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.
“A concise poem about our work as stated elow
A place without being
a thought without thinking
creatively, two dimensions
suspended animation
possibly a perfect imitation
of what was then to see.
A frozen memory in synthetic colour
or black and white instead,
fantasy dreams in magazines
become imbedded inside my head.
Artistic views
surrealistic hues,
a photographer’s instinctive eye:
for he does as he pleases
up to that point he releases,
then develops a visual high.

Before people start to mention Trent Parke, yes of course i know and i've seen and i admire what he does. And probably i would not see this if i did not know his famous pictures. But this one is more about the colour for me.
