I did a drawing of the Chart Room; the bartender put it up behind the bar, and bought me a drink. %-) The drawing is in the red circle. What an honor!
At this inclusive and open jam for local musicians, chord charts and lyrics for songs were provided and local musicians were invited to bring their acoustic guitar, uke, violin, resonator or voice to join the fun.
Everybody strummed and sang along as the chords and lyrics were projected on the large screen in the community room. Some brought their iPad to follow along in the NJAMP Songbook. The songs played were familiar favorites. This was not a performance so that all levels were welcome.
This event was co-sponsored by New Jersey Acoustic Music in the Park (NJAMP) and was led by Mike and Judy Seidel who are on the leadership team for NJAMP.
A great radio station that became a smash in Beantown. Its chart look changed over the years.
Like all good things, RKO’s time as a Top 40 trailblazer came to an end. It turned to talk in 1981 as FM lured its once massive audience away.
