Een bedelarmband is een armband waaraan kleine voorwerpjes (de bedeltjes) kunnen worden gehangen.
De afzonderlijke bedeltjes verbeelden zo de herinnering aan de schenker. De draagster weet precies van wie welk bedeltje is.
De populariteit van de bedelarmband lag vooral voor de jaren 60 en met name onder jonge meisjes.
De oorspronkelijke bedeltjes waren van goedkoop materiaal (glas). Het gebruik van met name zilver werd, in de loop van de tijd, steeds gewoner.

A charm bracelet is a bracelet to which small items (the charms) can be hung.
The individual charms thus represent the memory of the donor. The wearer knows exactly who is who she is.
The popularity of the charm bracelet was mainly for the sixties and especially among young girls.
The original charms were of cheap material (glass). The use of silver in particular became increasingly common over time.

Size: Less than 3x3 inches
These are tiny bells at the end of a couple of charm bracelets. I hung them for the shot but I think it looks better rotated. There are 3 light sources...an incandescent table light at 9 o'clock and 2 LED lights at 4 and 8 o'clock.

Macro Mondays 'charm' theme.
I've just got around to taking this for the MM theme today.
These are two little charms from the charm bracelet that I've kept from my childhood. It is over fifty years old, tarnished and very dirty, though of course looks much worse in macro!

It's a London Bus and it reminds us of the first common vacation in London!

This sterling charm bracelet belonged to my wife's much older second cousin when her cousin was going to the University of Arizona. The heart and silver charms are dated on the back, ranging from 1934 through 1957.
Mini LEDs in the background. Lit primarily with a 2-AA battery incandescent Maglite flashlight with two layers of white handkerchief in front of the flashlight to diffuse the light.

This weeks Macro Mondays entry under the theme Redux 2018. (Favourite theme from the year) I chose trinkets.
I found this charm bracelet in my mom's jewelry box. My name and my brother's name are inscribed on the back. They are from the late 60s or early 70s.
You don't see people wearing charm bracelets anymore. The head with my name is almost 67 years old. My dad bought it for me and had my name engraved on it.

BEATLES/BEETLES theme. A charm from my bracelet that closes into the shape of a beetle. As a child of the 60s, I'm a huge Beatles fan! HMM!!
This charm bracelet, which is about 45 years old now, and I don't wear anymore, is packed with memories for me. Each charm reminds me of events or people from my childhood and teen years. It's also funny for me to see I had an Elephant and an Owl on there, because years later I would fall in love with wildlife photography!

I'm a bit obsessed over light leaks at the moment.
I hunted all over for a bag like that, and I couldn't find one D: So in the end I just got a plain bag and wrote the slogan on. :)
Words are the only way to pour out my thoughts, and I hope they will be sufficient, be enough to end this slow process of travelling. Life is a journey, it has been a gravel filled, rocky path with rose thorns and poisonous flowers that deceive, but I am running now, I want to leave quickly, to move on and forget everything ever happened.
