Biết khai thác triệt để chất đàn ông riêng biệt để trở thành “hàng độc”, Phạm Anh Khoa còn tạo một lợi điểm đáng kể, đó là sự giản dị. Khoa trên sân khấu luôn luôn mặc quần jeans, khi kết hợp với áo thun không hoa văn, lúc lại là sơ mi đen kiểu cổ điển, tuyệt đối không có chi tiết rườm rà.
Chàng trai thể hiện một hình ảnh khỏe khoắn, năng động. Sự nhanh, gọn liến thoắng của Phạm Anh Khoa khiến người ta có cảm giác anh là “một chú ngựa hoang”, hừng hực tinh thần phi nước đại, sẵn sàng chứng tỏ sự mạnh mẽ của mình trên đường đua.
Điều đó ít nhiều tạo nên một sự quyến rũ ở Khoa, tuy nhiên, quý ông này chỉ hơi mất điểm ở chỗ: đôi khi để lộ cho những “quý bà” biết thật ra anh vẫn còn là một “chú bé” thích chơi game và có phần…nhí nhảnh. và thực hiện một chương trình rock đúng nghĩa. Ngày 24/10, tại sân vận động Tao Đàn, Khoa đã liên tục hát 18 bài rock dưới mưa trong sự hưởng ứng cuồn nhiệt của hơn 7.000 khán giả. Fan của Khoa và của rock đã được một đêm “say” với ca từ và giai điệu lãng mạn .

Quang Dũng: Nói ít làm vừa

Khép lại mọi cuộc bon chen đình đám bằng việc lập gia đình, nhưng sự nghiệp của nam ca sĩ hát nhạc trữ tình số một này vẫn là những “cơn sóng ngầm” mà nhiều người phải chú ý.
Trước hết bằng sự kết hợp với diva Hồng Nhung để trở thành một cặp hát nhạc trữ tình ăn ý, Quang Dũng đã tạo một bước tiến trong sự nghiệp ca hát của mình, tạo được hình ảnh mới mẻ, sang trọng hơn trong mắt khán giả.
Anh đã chú tâm hơn vào việc thay đổi dòng nhạc mình theo đuổi bằng những ca khúc giàu tiết tấu, thay đổi hình ảnh bằng cách ăn mặc thoải mái, trẻ trung hơn…thay vì chỉ tập trung vào lớp khán giả “hơi cũ” như trước đây. Người ta nói vui là Quang Dũng đã chịu “chống lại” sự già nua và cũ kỹ mà mọi người vẫn thường áp đặt khi nhắc đến dòng nhạc anh trình bày.
Trong thời khủng hoảng kinh tế, anh và “bà chị” Hồng Nhung đã rất “biết mình” trong việc tổ chức những liveshow quy mô vừa phải, chỉ dành cho 1.00 khách mời có giá vé khá cao. Vì tính chất nhỏ gọn này, có thể coi là con dao hai lưỡi: nâng đẳng cấp của cặp đôi Hồng Nhung - Quang Dũng và là một “lời tự thú” về…sự rút lui. Tuy nhiên, rất may, đêm nhạc đã được tổ chức đến lần thứ ba - bốn, chứng tỏ sức sống, khả năng kiếm lợi lẫn sự hợp thời của nó.
Quang Dũng đã đi qua một năm không hề có album cá nhân nào, cũng chẳng tuyên bố nào rình rang trên báo. Có thể nói là một năm hoàn toàn lặng lẽ để anh nhìn lại sự nghiệp của mình và có những bước đi dài hơn.
Lặng lẽ vốn là bản tính cố hữu của Dũng, có vẻ anh cũng đang rất hài lòng với việc làm cha và cả công việc mới, kinh doanh bar & louge của mình. Quang Dũng “bật mí” sẽ trở lại thật “đường hoàng” bằng âm nhạc với hình ảnh mới mẻ hơn trong năm 2010. Và chúng ta không có lý do gì để không tin điều này!

«Droits de scolarité : les familles manifestent aux côtés des étudiants
Ce n'était pas une journée de relâche dimanche pour les étudiants, qui tenaient des manifestations familiales pour dénoncer la hausse des droits de scolarité à Montréal, Québec, Sherbrooke et Alma.
À Montréal, une marée humaine composée d'étudiants et de leur famille a envahi le parc La Fontaine, dans une ambiance plutôt festive, même si plusieurs faisaient part de leur indignation devant les politiques du gouvernement Charest. Ces manifestants (5000 selon le SPVM, 30 000 selon les organisateurs) ont ensuite marché vers le bureau de la ministre de l'Éducation, Line Beauchamp, rue Fullum.
La Coalition opposée à la tarification et à la privatisation des services publics, qui regroupe plus de 140 organismes, a profité de cette journée pour organiser une conférence citoyenne. Le président de la Fédération nationale des enseignantes et des enseignants du Québec, Jean Trudelle, a déclaré que la classe moyenne sera fortement touchée si l'augmentation des tarifs est approuvée.
Le fait que 22 % plus d'étudiants provenant de milieux défavorisés ou de régions éloignées fréquentent les campus québécois qu'ailleurs au Canada illustre bien, selon lui, que le gouvernement ne doit pas toucher aux droits de scolarité.
À Sherbrooke, plus de 1000 personnes ont marché de l'hôtel de Ville jusqu'aux bureaux du ministère de l'Éducation. Plusieurs participants n'avaient pas encore l'âge des études postsecondaires. Un adolescent rencontré par Radio-Canada a affirmé qu'il se sentait concerné parce qu'il voulait « pouvoir faire son travail plus tard ».
À Québec, plus de 400 manifestants de tous les groupes d'âge se sont rassemblés au cégep Limoilou, point de départ d'une marche qui les a amenés à la Basse-Ville de la capitale. L'une des personnes présentes a décrit l'éducation comme un « bien public ».
Le gouvernement Charest a annoncé l'an dernier une hausse des droits de scolarité de 1625 $ en cinq ans, à compter de l'automne prochain.
Un souper perturbé
Samedi, des étudiants ont tenté de perturber la soirée du premier ministre Jean Charest, alors qu'il mangeait à Montréal.
Des manifestants se sont rassemblés devant le restaurant Au pied de cochon en arborant une banderole noire. Une dizaine de policiers les ont repoussés. Aucune arrestation n'a été effectuée.
Plus tôt dans la journée, tandis qu'il participait à la Commission jeunesse de son parti, Jean Charest a réitéré qu'il ne reculerait pas sur la hausse des droits de scolarité.
De vendredi soir à samedi, des étudiants ont par ailleurs organisé un « marathon musical » de plus de 24 heures à l'église St-John the Evangelist, et dans la salle de spectacle L'Astral. La Coalition large de l'Association pour une solidarité syndicale étudiante (CLASSE) a aussi annoncé « ses propositions budgétaires et ses alternatives » à la hausse des droits de scolarité.
À ce jour, plus de 200 000 étudiants participent au mouvement de contestation.
La mobilisation atteindra son point culminant jeudi prochain, journée de manifestation « nationale ».»

Whenever I try a beer contracted to another brewery for a local market, most of the time I find that the original holds up better than the contracted brew (See: Dead Frog's Hops & Robbers IPA) but I still want to give it a run for its money as I love trying all beers and any beers.
Back when I was in Quebec City in April, I was walking up and down the beer eisle at the Metro Plus on Charest and saw Blonde d'Achouffe in single bottles. Blonde d'Achouffe already exists here in Manitoba as simply La Chouffe. Blonde d'Achouffe is actually brewed on contract specifically for the Quebec market by Les Brasseurs RJ, which happens to be one of the largest breweries in all of Quebec, heck - they even recently bought out Moosehead's share of Brasseries McAuslan the same week as I bought this brewery, so yeah.. Les Brasseurs RJ have a significant stake on the Quebec beer scene.
How does Les Brasseurs RJ's Blonde d'Achouffe compare to the original La Chouffe by Brasserie d'Achouffe? First let's review La Blonde d'Achouffe.
Appearance: Blonde d'Achouffe pours a thick orangey blonde, a thick bubbly snow white head, INSANE amount of sediment floating around in the beer.. so much so that the sediment is actually floating up to the top.
Aroma: Slightly syrupy, sweet, lots of Belgian yeast, a bit of an alcohol aroma. Not much really going on there, a bit light for an 8% Belgian Pale Ale. Somewhat fruity like apples, pears and coriander.
Taste: I have a bad cold right now (Thanks Obama Roommate..) so it's kind of hard for me to nitpick so far. It's your standard Belgian Pale Ale with standard Belgian yeasts, a bit sweet and fruity, light amount of coriander, sweet to the tongue, a bit watery mouthfeel. Decent Belgian Pale Ale but needs to be a bit stronger.
Overall Thoughts: A solid Belgian Pale Ale, nowhere near being as great as many of the great Quebec Pales out there, but for it being a contracted brew, it's certainly true to Belgian standards, so that's good. Easy to drink, nice fruitiness in taste and aroma, thick amount of sediment.. now time to compare it with the original from Belgique, La Chouffe:
Appearance: Like La Blonde d'Achouffe, La Chouffe pours a thick golden orange, sediment isn't anywhere near as prominent in the original Belgian beer versus the Brasseurs RJ version, but it's there and going all over the place. Thick white head as well.
Aroma: First off, a nice alcoholic aroma, more present than the Brasseurs RJ version, more coriander, not as syrupy but certainly more there than the Brasseurs RJ version. Notes of apples and pears again, more of it. Somewhat bready and parfumic.
Taste: Like the Brasseurs RJ version, a solid Belgian Pale Ale, I'm getting a bit of a hint of iron first off, followed by the sweetness of fruits, coriander and a bit of breadiness. Certainly alcoholy tasting, a slight tinny bitterness for aftertaste and a thicker mouthfeel than the RJ version.
Who wins?: Both are very solid Belgian Pale Ales, Les Brasseurs RJ did a good job capturing the essence of Brasserie d'Achouffe's popular ale, but like most beers, nothing compares to the original, BUT Brasseurs RJ did a very stellar job and I would NEVER say no to another one. The original is a bit more fruity while the Brasseurs RJ is a bit more coriander flavoured. There's a reason Les Brasseurs RJ is one of the largest breweries in Quebec, and it's not for producing mass amounts of piss water like Molson does, sure Les Brasseurs RJ brews the Tremblay line of beers, but they have even more delicious beers that beer geeks would enjoy!

Le jardin Jean-Paul-L'Allier est un parc de la ville de Québec situé au sud du quartier Saint-Roch. En été, on y retrouve plusieurs arrangements floraux ainsi qu'un bassin artificiel.
Le parc est situé entre le boulevard Charest et la Côte d'Abraham. La place de l'Université-du-Québec est une continuité de ce parc.
Jean-Paul-L'Allier Garden is a park in Quebec City south of the Saint-Roch district. In summer, there are several floral arrangements and an artificial pond.

«Plusieurs centaines de citoyens venus de diverses régions du Québec ont manifesté au centre-ville de Montréal, samedi après-midi, afin de réclamer plus d'argent pour la construction de logements sociaux dans le prochain budget que doit déposer le ministre des Finances, Raymond Bachand.
Le Front d'action populaire en réaménagement urbain (FRAPRU), organisateur de la manifestation, demande le financement de 50 000 nouveaux logements sociaux sur une période de cinq ans.
Dans un communiqué émis samedi, le FRAPRU a dénoncé la réduction de 70 millions $ des investissements en logement social dans le budget de l'an dernier.
«Non seulement le gouvernement Charest n'a-t-il annoncé que 2000 nouveaux logements sociaux à l'échelle de tout le Québec, soit 1000 de moins que par les années passées, mais il n'a donné aucune espèce de garantie quant à l'avenir», a souligné le coordonnateur du FRAPRU, François Saillant.
L'organisme estime qu'à travers le Québec, 261 000 ménages locataires n'ont pas un logement adéquat : celui-ci est insalubre ou surpeuplé ou trop cher en proportion des revenus du ménage. De plus, il y a un manque criant de logements disponibles dans des régions comme l'Abitibi et la Côte-Nord.»

Tonight's demonstration started from Emilie Gamelin Square at 21h like it has been done every night 27 times on the row. The march had barely started that Montreal's police forces (SPVM) declared it illegal according to the new law 78.
Things rapidly went bad as riot police charged the protesters half an hour after they had started. Several groups went in different directions, turning Montreal's downtown into chaos of riot police chasing protesters.
At the time of writing there are already 116 arrests according to police forces. Several people were beaten by riot police. One protester was seen unconscious on the ground after being beaten down in the face by riot police. His state remains uncertain. Rumors circulating on Twitter tell him dead but that remains unconfirmed by police forces.
The student strike started over three months ago in all major Quebec universities and colleges because of the tuition fee hike announced by the government. Weeks and weeks of negotiations did nothing to bring closer student representatives and the government. Last week Line Beauchamp, the Minister of Education, quit her job. Since then Jean Charest pushed for a "special law" to be implemented: the law 78. The latter prohibits any gathering of more than 50 people in Quebec. The law demands such gatherings to ask permission from the SPVM 8 hours prior to taking the street.

Tonight's demonstration started from Emilie Gamelin Square at 21h like it has been done every night 27 times on the row. The march had barely started that Montreal's police forces (SPVM) declared it illegal according to the new law 78.
Things rapidly went bad as riot police charged the protesters half an hour after they had started. Several groups went in different directions, turning Montreal's downtown into chaos of riot police chasing protesters.
At the time of writing there are already 116 arrests according to police forces. Several people were beaten by riot police. One protester was seen unconscious on the ground after being beaten down in the face by riot police. His state remains uncertain. Rumors circulating on Twitter tell him dead but that remains unconfirmed by police forces.
The student strike started over three months ago in all major Quebec universities and colleges because of the tuition fee hike announced by the government. Weeks and weeks of negotiations did nothing to bring closer student representatives and the government. Last week Line Beauchamp, the Minister of Education, quit her job. Since then Jean Charest pushed for a "special law" to be implemented: the law 78. The latter prohibits any gathering of more than 50 people in Quebec. The law demands such gatherings to ask permission from the SPVM 8 hours prior to taking the street.

Les FC apportent leur support logistique et cérémonial alors que le Duc et la Duchesse visiteront Ottawa, Montréal, Québec, l'Île du Prince Edward, Yellowknife et Calgary. Les honneurs militaires, Parade du droit de cité, gun salute de 21 coups, une croisière sur le St-Laurent à bord du NCSM Montréal, vols à bord d'aéronefs canadien et une rencontre spéciale avec les Rangers juniors sont au menu des célébrations.

I was on St. Denis Sunday night. I saw police activity, so I knew the student protests were nearby, but I was not expecting to immediately see them march down the street, which is what they did. This photo gives a very representative sample of the protestors. An estimated 4,000 people went by over 15 minutes, almost all of European background, and giving the appearance of having spent more time in libraries than in jails. Nevertheless, much of the demonstration, especially the first fifty percent of people that passed by, was chanting a single incendiary chant "No justice, no peace, f--k the police!" (My flickr account is "safe", hence the mild censorship). At the time of the photos, this was a legal march. It was later declared "illegal" after some people threw concrete blocks at the police. The arrests that occurred involved "kettling" tactics, but were many hours after the march was declared illegal.
The tuition battle resonates in Quebec because in the 1960's, French Quebec was one of the most poorly educated societies in North America. Quebecers take pride in one accomplishment of the "Quiet Revolution", which was universal access to free or very low-cost education from primary school to university, and the introduction of Quebec's unique CEGEP system. Many Quebecois are willing to defend their right to accessible education with the same emotion as many Texans are willing to defend their right to own guns.
The passage of Law 78, which took effect Friday May 18 at midnight, places restrictions on demonstrations, including requiring notification of the police at least 8 hours in advance, a requirement to not obscure faces, and provides severe penalties (up to $5,000/day for individuals or $125,000/day for organizations) both for ignoring these restrictions and for aiding others in ignoring these restrictions. Fines are doubled for the second and subsequent offenses. Does this mean that unions that offer to pay the fines or legal expenses of students could be subjected to bankrupting fines themselves? The new law created a level of anger that did not previously exist.
The students may have an enemy in Charest, but the police are just doing their job. There have been large numbers of arrests and frequent use of normal riot control tactics, but nothing comparable to the mass beatings of civil rights marchers that occurred in Selma, Alabama in 1965. Thus, the students (and not just a handful of anarchists) turning their anger onto the police is a disturbing development, which I think distracts from their main goals.

Long exposure snapshot inside the old wine cellar of the V. Sattui Winery in St. Helena, California (Napa Valley). In this picture, we are seeing a lot of French oak barrels to let wine mature. This cave was built nearly 125 years ago (in 1885 to be precise).
The hospitality of the owners is to be commended! We tasted quite a few wine there... of which, a few made the trip back with us. One of those is the famous "Angelica", a sweet desert wine blended with 20 year old brandy.
No real technical difficulty for this shot - We where in pseudo-darkness, so forcing iso 100 did make the exposure very long and I did not have my tripod. Other than that, not much to say, I love how the wood colors ended up and hate this metal thing in the middle of the picture.

«LA MANIF DÉBORDE
Le mouvement étudiant contre la hausse des droits de scolarité a fait sentir sa présence hier, à Montréal. Dans un esprit bon enfant d’abord, puis en gênant la circulation à l’heure de pointe.
Quelques milliers d’étudiants et cégépiens ont envahi le square Phillips, rue Sainte-Catherine, hier après-midi, et ont marché vers la place Émilie-Gamelin, près de l’UQAM, en grève comme deux autres universités et sept cégeps. Après que les organisateurs eurent décrété la fin de la manifestation, un petit groupe s’est toutefois dirigé vers le pont Jacques-Cartier pour bloquer la circulation.
Les porte-parole de la Coalition large de l’Association pour une solidarité syndicale étudiante (CLASSE) ont scandé leur farouche opposition à toute hausse de tarifs qui restreindrait
l’accessibilité aux études postsecondaires au Québec.
La porte-parole Jeanne Reynolds, dans un discours enflammé, a déploré la demande du gouvernement Charest qui a incité les institutions d’enseignement et les professeurs à traverser les piquets de grève pour offrir les cours comme si de rien n’était.
Les étudiants et cégépiens qui ont participé à la manifestation proviennent de tous les horizons, a-t-elle déclaré. Certains ont la chance d’avoir des parents suffisamment aisés ou dévoués pour payer leurs études. Ils manifestent tout de même par solidarité aux côtés de leurs confrères qui seront durement touchés par les hausses, selon elle.
«Oui, il y a une forte inflation, mais le désengagement du gouvernement envers les étudiants est impardonnable, a déploré Joannie, étudiante en sexologie à l’UQAM. Avec les hausses, ceux qui ont déjà accès aux prêts et bourses y auront toujours droit, mais ceux qui n’en ont pas actuellement n’en auront pas plus après la hausse. Et tous ne pourront pas suivre.»
«Moi, j’ai une mère seule. Je n’ai pas de prêts et bourses. Je dois travailler. Avec la hausse, je travaillerai plus, ce qui n’est pas bon pour l’engagement scolaire», a renchéri Pascale, qui étudie en éducation spécialisée.
À ce sujet, Félix, en technique de céramique au cégep du Vieux-Montréal, a expliqué que, selon les statistiques, « en 1968, un étudiant devait travailler quatre semaines par année pour payer une année d’études. En 2015, ce sera huit semaines au salaire minimum ». C’est probablement ce qu’il devra faire.
«On est trois enfants chez moi, ma mère est seule et rescapée du cancer, mon père s’est suicidé. Elle n’arrivera pas à me payer des études au-delà du cégep», a-t-il raconté. Son amie Éliane Thivierge croit de son côté qu’avant de refiler la facture aux étudiants, « le gouvernement aurait dû faire une enquête sur la gestion des universités». On aurait peut-être trouvé là de quoi éviter la hausse annoncée des droits.
Pont bloqué à l’heure de pointe
Vers 16 h, les organisateurs ont clos la manifestation en remerciant les participants pour leur présence. Un petit groupe est alors parti pour le pont Jacques-Cartier. Les étudiants ont bloqué les voies dans les deux sens pendant environ une demi-heure.
«Ils ne pensent pas aux travailleurs moyens qui vont être pris dans la congestion routière à 1,40$ le litre d’essence», a dit Pierre Morel, un automobiliste qui tentait de rentrer à Montréal.
Alexandra Croze, étudiante en études hispaniques, a affirmé que le but des manifestants n’était pas de frustrer les automobilistes. « On voulait prendre la rampe piétonnière à la file indienne, mais les policiers nous en ont empêchés. On veut être entendus. On veut rejoindre la population.»
Les équipes spécialisées du Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) ont finalement forcé les manifestants à dégager les voies du pont. Les policiers ont ensuite repoussé les étudiants jusqu’au parc Émilie-Gamelin. Ils ont arrêté un seul manifestant qui refusait d’obtempérer.
D’autres manifestations à venir
Plusieurs votes de grève sont à venir dans les prochaines semaines. Près des trois quarts des étudiants et cégépiens de la province doivent encore se prononcer. Hier, 10 000 étudiants de l’Université Laval étaient en grève d’une journée. Ils se sont ainsi ajoutés aux 52 000 étudiants et élèves en grève générale illimitée. Les étudiants de l’Université du Québec en Outaouais votaient hier en soirée. Au moment de mettre sous presse, les résultats n’étaient toujours pas connus. Un peu plus de 6000 membres pourraient donc s’ajouter au mouvement.
Les étudiants promettent une action d’envergure tous les jeudis d’ici à ce que le gouvernement recule, «comme il l’a fait dans plusieurs dossiers ». Deux grandes manifestations sont également prévues, le 1er mars à Québec et le 22, à Montréal.»
