Fun little project, inspired by watching the Dracula miniseries that came out on BBC.
Part #2 - introduces the Vampire Bat.
Drawn in Sketchable on a Surface Pro 7.
I wanted to start off with something sort of easier to tackle: character expressions!
This character's name is Orabella. She's very violent, revenge-seeking, and a 'shoot first ask questions later' kind of person. Her gemstone is sapphire, and the scars on her face are examples of how Hearts heal over injuries with their gemstones.
I did this with a brush pen to outline, and used prismacolor marker for the shadows and blue gemstone scars.

This is definitely not a definitive final design. I've typically drawn Orabella pretty lean with visible muscles, but I wanted to experiment with making her very built. I don't think I particularly like it on her character.
Regardless, the design was heavily inspired by Spartan/Ancient Greek armor. Orabella (and Constance) were born in 1620 in <399 (the story does take place in modern day 2020, but the 1620 storyline ties into it and gives a lot of background context for some of the events that occur). They were originally going to live in a purely European Medevial inspired island, but I think that I'm going to change it to an ancient Greek island. (Orabella and Constance lived on a very isolated island off the coast of California, and I imagine their ancestors were exiled from ancient Greece, got on a boat, and wound up on this island. This has led to the preservation of ancient Greek culture far beyond when the ancient Greeks actually lived in our world.)
